Australia tour of West Indies

Great that we can watch every IPL game live on Ten HD or delayed on regular Ten, but if we want to watch the national team in any international tours we need to pay for Foxtel...

Rights for this series was sold ages ago. Rights for the Indian series have already been sold. 9 have the Champions trophy. We'll have to wait to next year to maybe get some overseas action on FTA.

This is the squad called up for a training camp for the series against the Australians: The camp will run from May 12 to 17 in Antigua.

FULL SQUAD: (17)

Sulieman Benn, Patrick Browne, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Fidel Edwards, Ryan Hinds, Amit Jaggernauth, Runako Morton, Darren Sammy, Marlon Samuels, Devon Smith, Brenton Parchment, William Perkins, Keiron Pollard, Daren Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Kemar Roach, Jerome Taylor.

They will be joined by Chanderpaul, Bravo, Sarwan and hopefully Gayle from the IPL later.

And of course the squad will be trimmed to say 15 before the first test.

the only one wonders is if the aussie players did actually need a camp before taking on the windies.

My friend do not underestimate we West Indians, and I guess that is why the Aussies are taking no chances, since no one expected them too be beaten at home by the Indians, and they were, badly too I might add. For those of us that know a little cricket, its like de stock market, you just never know when it will all go bad.

I hope Australia get whitewash in all games. Even practice games.

Its kool being sarcastic, I like that, since the Mighty Aussies are Kings of Cricket, then any defeat that they get by us the WIndies, should be considered a washout fe real, we what, ranked 8th in de world, so hell yeah.

Hi everyone, my first ever post here.
I think West Indies will most certainly be a "test" for Australia, since many of the players in the IPL will have to fly directly from India to West Indies. It doesn't look like the Australians are going to have a rest...unless they sleep all the way there to Jamaica. It will be interesting that's for sure.

I like that Kemar Roach and William Perkins were called up to the practice squad. With Perkins that makes it 3 WKs, looks like the selectors are letting Ramdin know that his spot is not secured.

Australia just had a training camp at home before they flew out to the West Indies.

Dare I too believe that it is time Ramdin knew that his spot is like the stock market, unsecure. The mix is good, I mean I already have my list of the final 15 and then 11, but lets wait and see. I would have liked to see Barath the Trinidad opener in there as well just for the expereince, I believe that it is time to let guys like Devon Smith know that we need to move forward with our cricket and after 24 matches he have not delivered and the youngsters are there to take up the job.

I still think that he is the #1 WK because he is probably the best keeper in the Caribbean, but he is not the best WK batsman but friendly competition is always good.

My 15 would be Chanderpual, Chattergoon, Gayle (if heathly, I hope he is :upray), Sarwan, Jaggernauth, Edwards, Taylor, Samuels(unfortunately), Ramdin, Bravo, Sammy, Pollard, Browne, Powell(Nobody better unless they want to include Kemar Roach which i doubt) and Morton(I know :noway).

Hey WI what do you think about Kraigg Brathwaite, just dominated the under-15 competition. Him and Barath could be the future.

Dare I like your 15, I love the mix of youth and the prospect of the future. I agree on the Ramdin issue, but he surely need to be reminded that he is not alone. Some how I would bring Hinds in place of Morton, neither of them would be for batting, but both can field and with Hinds I would have some sort of bowling. Jaggs deserve to be on de 15 and 11 for that matter, I always advocate that new guys should be played at home first before taking them on tour and expect then to perform.
Brathwaite and Barath, definitely the future, and the sooner we get them in the better, lets take a leaf from the Asians and debut test players at 17 and 18.
Remember Edwards, he played only one match for Barbados and was spotted in the nets by then WI captain Brian Lara and today we have, possibly the best fast bowler in the WI, with hostile pace in the 90 mph. So the younger we can get the guys in the better for West Indies Cricket.
