Australia tour of West Indies

To be honest, I'd rather us have lost this test (and badly) on the back on Johnson, rather than him cleaning up with mostly tailenders. Now the selectors and Ponting will make him immovable and that's gonna hurt us in the long term, especially in India.

Casson shows his true colours, being carted around. At this stage we should drop him and play Bollinger with Katich and Clarke doing the spinning.

Haha, it's a WACA Test. Both teams squander the conditions in the first innings. Now let's watch them both clear 350 in the second.

Disappointing again that there is noone to back Chanderpaul up. Then again, that is what you get when your best batsman is a no. 5. He should not be forced to hold the lower order together; he should have the pick of the litter to bat with. He hasn't really batted higher than 5 since his early years and foot troubles. It's probably time that Chanderpaul returned to no 3.

chanderpaul not out for a third time ina row but i think he should have taken more chances while batting with the tail,he exposed the tail far too much.

I agree with you, I honestly believe that Chanderpaul seems more concern with his avg these days than seeing us (WIndies) to good scores in test, I mean I have looked at some of the positions we have been in and he leaves most of the strike to Taylor, Powell etc...

Haha I wake up this morning and I see Johnson has taken 4 wickets, three of which were tailenders. I guess this will keep him in the team for another series.

As a New Zealander and cricket fan I hope the WI can win this game I really do.

I'm sure England fan will agree with me when I say that I hope Johnson is still bowling out the World's bets tailenders when the 2009 Ashes come around.

I'd rather us winning every test. I'd never want any team I support to lose.

Give Casson a go, it's his first test.

Akmal is nowhere near the keeper that Ramdin is, Akmal might be a better batsman but his work behind the stumps over the last 2 years has been some of the worst in test cricket.
And you cant fault Marshall, he played his innings better than all of the more experienced player in the squad.
Having seen Ramdin at his best, I have to say, that the talent is there. He has good shots. It seems he just needs to work on holding his composure. Too often he just doesn't go on with a good start.

lots of people seem to be jumping down the throat of casson, even though hes only bowled 7 overs of Test cricket

What about P.Browne, I saw him in South Africa last year, he looked good with the bat. I don't know if he keeped over there though.

It's because he has an average of 40 odd in FC cricket.

Guys, just remember Warne got spanked for 150 before he took his first test wicket. Everyone would've thought that he was a dud. Look how he turned out.

I doubt that he is more concerned about his average, he didn't go all out because he expected his tail enders to stick around for more than 10 balls. if you look at the Aussie innings Lee and Casson faced 40+ balls each. They didn't even try to partner him they just played foolish shots that a tail ender should never try when his team is in a situation like that. Chanderpoual is the guy that should be getting the least amount of blame put on him.

Michael Clarke is a better spin bowler then Beau Casson and I'm being dead serious.

Who cares if Warne got carted round in his first match? Remember he played against the Indians (best players of spin in the world) on a flat Australia pitch whilst Casson is playing on a pitch were both teams got rolled for under 300 in their first innings' against one of the worst teams in the world.

Joke that he ever represented Australia because he wouldn't make any other team in the world.

Point of note, Warne First Class bowling average in Australia is 34.72. That is playing for Victoria only. So anyone expecting our next spinner to have an average under 30 is saying hes better than Warne.

Binga to be fired up. I can promise you that.

Good call! It was a pretty fiery spell of very quick bowling by Lee and it is quite extraordinary that he can bowl 93.3mph (150.3kph) in a Test match at the age of 31 years old and consistently time over 90mph (144.84kph) throughout a spell.

I think it's fair to say that he is bloody fit for a 31 year old. Must put the hard yards in at the gym.
