Australia tour of West Indies

Katich needs 14 more runs to be highest Aussie run scorer for the series :D Had some virtual money riding on that :p

My prediction that our batting would be much much better in the 2nd innings was correct. Congrats to Jaques and Katich. Hussey missed out again, hes having a poor series isn't he, Brett Lee is beating him in average.

Now can the Windies produce any sort of the own 2nd innings revival?

Can Chanderpaul get his Test Average above 50?

I bet Casson will take a few cheap wickets of the tailenders but I hope he doesn't cause his crap. He got shown up by a world class batsman in Chanderpaul.

Good start, but this only goes to show that it will be very difficult for us in the 4th innings to take West Indian wickets, especially that of Chanders.
Relative to the conditions, it is not so difficult. A lead of 365 already and likely they will make that 450+ by lunchtime day 4. Symonds and Haddin will not need to be accountable and that could lead to rapid acceleration. Additionally, it's very unlikely Chattergoon will bat with torn ankle ligaments. Sure, noone should expect a quick finish, but a quick finish is not required.

Out of interest when Hayden comes back where does Katich go? I'm inclined for Katich and Jacques to open cause they seem to know each other well. Hayden at 3?

He goes out of the team. So you want to drop Ponting to put Hayden in?

No but you have to admit Clarke and Hussey haven't exactly impressed. Mind you Katich has a good record in India too. Also maybe casson and Australia can live on katich's and clarke's spin bowling. Lets face it Casson sucks. There is really no one else impressive. It becomes a waste of a position. But who knows Casson could shock us.

EDIT: He averages 52 against India and 40 in India. Unless Australia unearth a spin champion i think its viable to rely on Clarke, Symonds and Katich. And for the record Warne's first two games sucked (1/258 and 0/107) which were played within a year's distance.

Katich reaches his 150 with a brilliant cover drive. It's been a good innings.

Eh? Pup made a ton last game.

Forgot about that:cool: but i wasn't planing on dropping clarke anyway. My target is casson... and i wouldn't drop Hussey at all.

Which means you should give Casson a go.

Yes after he's proved himself in the domestics. And i mean long term. Warne's first game was against India and then a year later against SL, two good nations against spin. WI aren't exactly a good side against spin and to chuck him against India in India is suicide. And a waste of a position. But then again Casson could suprise us all and nab 6 wickets. Till he shows ability to compete with a batting order like India in India i remain on the position that Australia would do justice with the extra batsman or pace bowler.

Back to back fours from Clarke after playing and missing early in the over. Good batti ng.

Who will you drop when Haydos is back?

If Katich gets a double century here, then what happens with selection when we go to India? Both Katich and Hayden have proven records in India and Jaques doesn't.
