Australia vs England ODI Series - 7 matches - Sep 4 to Sep 20

Maybe stick with a side closer to your test team...

Cook could play, hes in form.

Trott? He can bat

I agree, both of those would be better choices than most of our x11 at the moment. I think we should get napier in as well, we need at least two hitters.

Send the England Women cricket team (of course with S Broad) they will win at least one ODI.

4 - 0 :laugh

You know you would take an ODI whitewash if it meant you could beat Australia in a Test Series. Thanks...

Team news

Luke Wright suffered a toe injury when he was struck by the bowling machine during practice and is doubtful and Dimitri Mascarenhas has been called up as cover. Graham Onions could be in line for his ODI debut as England try to freshen up the team, or Graeme Swann is the other option depending on whether the conditions suit two spinners.

England (possible) 1 Andrew Strauss (capt), 2 Joe Denly, 3 Ravi Bopara, 4 Matt Prior (wk), Owais Shah, 6 Eoin Morgan, 7 Stuart Broad, 8 Adil Rashid, 9 Tim Bresnan, 10 Ryan Sidebottom, 11 Graham Onions.

Australia's one-day machine continues to run smoothly and the only reason to change would be to assess various options ahead of the Champions Trophy. James Hopes missed out at Lord's with Ricky Ponting returning, while Ben Hilfenhaus and Peter Siddle haven't played a game yet in the series.

Australia (probable) 1 Shane Watson, 2 Tim Paine (wk), 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Michael Clarke, 5 Callum Ferguson, 6 Michael Hussey, 7 Cameron White, 8 Mitchell Johnson, 9 Nathan Hauritz, 10 Brett Lee, 11 Nathan Bracken.

I'm pretty sure the Aussie side won't run out like that. Surely Hilfy and Siddle have to get some game time.

I don't think they should have Prior at 4, he's not really good enough.

With England desperately needing power-hitters, Mascarenhas should come in for Wright.

We desperately need this batting line-up to support Strauss by playing the aggressive innings needed. Strauss so far has had to give his wicket away since the batsmen at the other end hasn't scored quick enough.

Rashid should keep his place for the rest of the series. The series has gone and we need to see what he's made of before the tour of SA and Bangladesh, he'll probably play in the latter.

The problem is Masca has to come in, and Wright is one of the few players I'd keep so far on performance.

Australia need to whitewash England 7-0, to become no.1 in ODI rankings again.

Won't be easy if we're resting players.

I WANT TROTT!

I think that the best news I herd all week was that the county players have given the ECB a 'vote of no confidence' and I think if the fans had the choice they would do exactly the same thing. How can you pick a man in 5th test, who then goes on to score a hundred and not even think about putting him in the ODI side when we have lost 4-0 and are struggling to make 200.

This team really needs a shake up and I'm afraid the players in the squads aren't the ones to be doing, the squad as a whole just looks so poor. You look through the team and no one stands out!

The only thing I'd say is that test ability doesn't necessarily count for much in ODIs, I don't think Michael Bevan ever played a test, for example, but in this case he should be in.

The other thing is that they have to pick from their Champion's Trophy squad and try and get the best team for that, which could explain why he's not getting a chance now.
