Australian ODI tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland, June-July 2010

The point is that if Hopes' bowling against Ireland was bad, then you can hardly even call Watson a bowler.

Strauss gone. This is how Strauss is going to get out time and time again in ODi cricket. It's the shot he was playing to get himself out in Test cricket, and he's since put it away, but in ODi's he feels he has to play those big drives to full deliveries, and more often than not he will edge behind. Looked decent on the leg-side and it was good bowling from Harris, but I'm not convinced Strauss is ever going to be a top class ODi opener. Bring in Steve Davies TBH.

:laugh Harris being clocked @ 96.5. Fix that speed gun.

I'm glad to see Kieswetter playing his natural game. He seems to have been pidgeon holed as a pinch hitter, rather than the quality batsman that he is.

That perfectly right, he was getting that in NZ and I'm sure he got it in Australia and he definitely got it in WI.

Hazlewood has created some chances just hasn't eventuated. Finally a wicket and Watson the man to do it.

All the other bowlers' speeds have been as you'd expect, so that suggests to me that Harris was bowling that quickly. His last over was genuinely quick. Only 1 delivery read at under 93mph, he's genuinely quick.

He's bowled that cross-seamed and it's seamed back a mile, as well as keeping low. Can the Rose Bowl not make decent pitches any more?

Now that should give Hazlewood some confidence. Been unlucky and good to see Ponting has seen that and didn't take him off.

Tell ya what, Eoin Morgan is quickly becoming one of the best ODi batsmen in the world. He scores vital runs when England really need them against the best attacks in the world. This innings today has been a fine knock. Only he and Kieswetter have looked comfortable for England, but Morgan's just looked so much better than everyone else on the park with the bat. He's definitely England's most important ODi batsman now, England's reliance on Pietersen is long gone.

Wright's maturing nicely too. The extra responsibility with the bat seems to have gotten more out of him.

Agreed. He's really coming along nicely as a cricketer. He was far too raw when he was first picked, but his bowling is coming along very well and his batting now is miles better than it was when he first came in.

Confused as to why Bresnan is coming in ahead of Yardy. Sure he played an OK knock in the CT in SA, but there's no chance that he's a better player than Yardy. Hope he gets out swiftly so Yardy can show what he can do. Has gone from a player that was brought in as a batsman that bowls a bit of part-time left-arm medium to a frontline spinner that bats a bit, when in actual fact he's a much better bat than the England side are giving him credit for.

Well played England, Morgan has absolutely taken us apart. Really missing Johnson and even Lee who give us that reverse swing and lucky wickets.

Morgan seriously deserves this hundred if he can get to it, what a stunning knock!

And there we go, Eoin Morgan you are one of the finest, classiest and stylish acts to have come out of the Britsh and Irish Isles in recent times.

Eoin Morgan, what a player. This lad is one of the best ODi batsmen in the world right now. He's scoring runs in pressure situations, all around the world against the best sides in the world. Fantastic innings. Has to be one of the best ODi knocks I've seen for years, well, bar Tendulkar's obviously, but that's just on another level. 20 ODIs for England and averages 55.75 at a strike rate of 91.39 with 2 centuries. Now that, is an ODi record to be proud of.
