Australian Tour of India, October 2010/11

Especially, after what transpired in Sydney, I would have thought that the BCCI has enough sense to go in for the UDRS. Seeing that it still has not, as Haari points out, they may well end up paying.

The only way BCCI will agree to UDRS is if Tendulkar is given out wrongly on 299 :laugh

India Australia is the next big rivalry in cricket. No one gives a damn about India- Pakistan any more. Even though we do not play Pak now, people really don't look forth to these competitions.
As for Australia, the game is hard and competitive. Something interesting always happens and both sides display a lot of aggression. There is bound to be so much discussion on this forum then.

Well, I don't think there's a consensus. I still get much more satisfaction out of beating Pakistan, and so would most of the cricket fans I know.

I see the argument and honestly I like it, but I'm not sure we need to look to the future right now when we've got 2 massive series ahead. After the Ashes, then we can start selecting for 2013, but right now I think we have to play our best XI regardless of age.

Yes but i believe in choosing your best players , not cause someone is young means they can't perform on the big stage or in big series.McGrath, Ponting, Warne, Waugh played at a very young age.Hughes is a much much better batsman than North his stats are so much better than North its laughable that he cant break into the team and North is seen as the future.Khawaja is young as well but his got the technique and i believe his got the temperament to be a consistent batter for aussie , guess the only way we can know is by giving him a go.North has already proved what kind of player he is( inconsistent). He just transfered what he's done at domestic cricket to international cricket. So i don't believe in settling for mediocrity regardless if we have two big series coming up.So North got to go simple as that.I don't see any players in domestic cricket( below31years) who are better than Khawaja and Hughes.George and Paine are only in my sqaud cause Haddin and Siddle wont be fit for the indian tour. A fit Siddle is a very good back up bowler to have.Smith might be only 21 but he'll be something special and being around the sqaud will do him no harm.Do you think his 7 fer in the domestic game came by accident? It was as a result of him being in the squad when Hauritz had an injury ( i think it was against windies or pakistan in oz) and working with Warnie. His now alot more hungry for international cricket and i can see him improving all the more. The only time age should be taken into account when selecting your best players is if that player is too old, remmember McGain. If Amaer was Australian would he be seen as too young to play? Very likely, we would be saying he needs a few more seasons in domestic cricket. It should always be about quality.

Hughes and Marsh. Gosh that would be pretty sweet. I'm pretty sure Marsh isn't too far away from a Test call.

Despite Hughes being included in the Test squad, I doubt the selectors will want to drop Watson down considering how they said they were still backing North. Hopefully he gets a go.

Yes interesting selections - we're going young. Look at our bench: the 4 reserves will most likely be Hughes (21), Smith (21), Hazlewood (19) and George (23). I think I like it :)

They're relatively safe picks, though. Hazlewood's the only one that hasn't really done much, but is probably the least likely to get a game.

Hoping that Hughes plays the 1st test & North s dropped. Shall begin fasting & praying for that outcome from today.

Interesting picks man, Hughes selection means mot likely, North gonna sit Watto will play at 5/6(bad:().

Good to see Hughes in there.Slectors going with youth :clap. All of those young guys are good enough so its not like they're picking youth for the sake of it.The other 2 guys i would like to see around the set up in the future is Mitch Marsh and Wade. Its not really their time quite yet.Hazlewood is a surprising pick but i think he's there more for the experience if anything else.North will play the first test , he was pick cause selectors are convince he's an all rounder so India is the place he'll most likely succeed if he ever does succeed.

I do not see Australia Winning this series. Not even ODI's . We really have had two really poor ODI Home Series against Aussie.
