Australian Tour of India, October 2010/11

Australia lost 5 odi's in a row before the 07 WC. Meant nothing at all. People wrote us off in a big way back then, our openers were useless, no firepower in the bowling, McGrath too old, fail journalism. :doh

There's a big difference between ODI's and Tests.

India are very strong in tests, stronger than they are in ODI's. Our bowlers too bowl much much better in tests (guys like Ishant and Sree are turning out to be specialist test bowlers slowly and Zaheer is good as always). And you guys are playing in India again, which is our den and after a brief period where he became shaky at home, we have now recaptured our home advantage. Remember Australia lost 2-0 last time in India inspite having the likes of Hayden, Ponting, etc. Ganguly and Kumble are not there from that series, but we are not missing them at all.

Like you are forgetting AUS took an understenght, inexperienced & injury hit bowling attack on that 2008 tour.

Lee, Johnson and Siddle. All of them played there. Hayden was there too. Infact that team was stronger than the team that played against South Africa.

But its not surprising at all some people always look for excuses whenever india wins. India should have won that test series by 3-0. But because of defensive captaincy from Kumble we couldn't. ;)

Nobdoy is trying to make excuses for anything. It Shows how out of touch you are with reality sir.

Lee was injured during that 2008 series, along with Stuart Clark.

Its ridiculous to compare Johnson during that 2008 tour to the bowler he is now. In 2008 Johnson was still young & raw. He didn't become a test quality bowler until the 2008/09 series vs South Africa.

Siddle made hisd debut in that series & was awfully raw. He also like Johnson didn't look test quality until the 2008/09 series vs SA.

Hayden also entered that series after a 6 months injury lawy-off & clearly was playing rusty.

All of this is FACTS - not excuses sir. :facepalm

AUS clearly much stronger because the bowling attack is more experienced.

Sorry i shouldn't have quoted you. Apologies.

I can remember laughing quite hard after hearing about these comments. McGrath, just 26 wickets :sarcasm Hayden the second best player in the tournament and Gilchrist uber consistent and ridiculous in the final + v Bangladesh.

And lols at 'India should have won 3-0'. We were the better side in Bangalore only for the pitch to become as flat as the Nullabor plain, and then in Nagpur Kumble used an 8-1 field to curb our batting and Ponting's brain explosion cost us victory there.

Wasnt the '8-1 field' at Mohali done by Dhoni's captaincy? Sorry if I am wrong.

You're right about it being employed by Dhoni but it was definitely at Nagpur.

So what happened after Bangalore test? Who stopped Australia from winning the series? India had a better chance of winning the series 3-0 then Australia actually winning one test match in that series. ;)

What? That doesn't even make sense? Australia had more chance of winning Bangalore than India did of winning Bangalore or Delhi. Plus India only won Nagpur because of boring, defensive tactics and some silly captaincy.

1-1 would have been the fair result in that series but India won ok. It means nothing this time around.

That made me laugh.:laugh Excuses after losing the test. Accept it if Aussies lost it, don't just pit silly excuses all over the page.
Rest will be settled in this series.

BTW, why are you guys digging the grave.

Bring it on. India is always up for Aussies in test matches. No matter where they are played.
