Australia's Tour of India - 7 ODI's

for T20, yes...UV can be tried out. would be interesting to see what he brings to the side.

this whole second string and injured side is BS !
during the CB series, aussies were playing with their best players
from hayden,symonds,glichrist,lee,clarke,bracken,hopes,clark etc....
and we all know what happened. :D

Yes that CB series was a good win for India. Doesnt explain how they have yet to beat Australia in India for 23 years in a one day series!

Belief. We actually believe that we can beat the best in the business now. About 5 years back, I would be over the moon if we got 4-3 against a team like Australia (even this one).

A team of Watson, Haddin/Paine, Ponting, Clarke, Hussey, White, Ferguson, Johnson, Lee, Hauritz, Siddle would have wiped the floor with India ............Just accept it. India played shite and were lucky they didn't go up a really potent Aussie XI this series!

Here here!

There is a big difference in beleif and reality.

No. We wouldn't have gotten owned. I can guarantee you that.

There's a limit to pessimism and criticism, but you're crossing it.

You got already owned by our 3rd string team. 8-9 players were missing but still we won the series. This defeat is a huge slap to Indian team as well as some commentators. What would other teams have done with these same conditions ?? I really wondered.

I saw the dismissal of Yuvraj Singh, what a shameless person, he was laughing while walking back to pavillion :facepalm

WorldChampions, are you an Aussie living in India? Or are you an Indian who supports the Aussies? I'm confused.

Okay, well done to the Australian team. I am not taking anything away from them but one series does not define a team. The Indian team is still very strong. There's a reason we're competing to be #1. We're good enough to be competing for that spot. Evidently, we are not good enough to be number one yet, but we're certainly getting closer and just one series loss does not change that.

No he isn't. A team of Watson, Haddin/Paine, Ponting, Clarke, Hussey, White, Ferguson, Johnson, Lee, Hauritz, Siddle would have wiped the floor with India and this is coming from a Pom who loves seeing nothing better then the convicts lose. Just accept it. India played shite and were lucky they didn't go up a really potent Aussie XI this series!

We played bad cricket, yes, but would we have been beaten convincingly? I don't think so.

Apart from this game, every single loss has gone right down to the wire, and is to blame on shoddy bowling/fielding. If we had Zaheer i'm positive that, with his leadership and bowling ability, we would have done better and maybe even won this series (even against a top Australian team).

But we won't know that, as there is no way to prove the ifs and buts.

Hopefully this loss is a slap in the face to the selectors and we can choose some more qualified players, like Badrinath, Tiwary, and Nayar. We need some spirit back in the bowling department, i'm looking at you, Sreesanth.

Zaheer - Sreesanth - Ishant. Wonderful combo.

Tiwary still needs to work on his OD game. Badrinath has fallen off the radar now I think. Sad but true.

Not really. Based on recent performances, I would say Aus, SA, SL and Pakistan are all better ODI teams then India and it is between those four (mainly SA and Aus for the number one spot) Personally I would say India are down with the dregs of England and New Zealand :facepalm India are just too up and down to be real contenders for number one. They failed in the CT. They failed in the 20/20 World Cup and as far as I can see theire only ODI success of 2009 has been in the Compaq Cup and even in that they only beat SL once (in the other match they were totally thrashed, once again highlighting how hot and cold India are)

There is no denying they have the potential to be number 1, but then again so do teams like England and NZ. However, until they start putting some consistent performances together it seems to me that they will always be a "just about/there abouts" side.

Oh and India. Please pick Sreesanth. That guy actually is a legend, just for actually showing some agression and passion.

Great series win for Australia. It was good to see the young guys step up, Bollinger in particular. The good thing about the series win is that all members of the side contributed in some way. I'm really happy with how Australia played in this series and hopefully this good form from them can carry over to our summer.
