Australia's Tour of India - 7 ODI's

Fire Jadeja!!!
If he needs to be played, play him as a bowler only,in place of Harbhajan!
Bring back Yusuf Pathan :doh

Such a brave innings from Sachin, he just kept going even though the wickets were falling.

Radeja needs to call better, he keeps getting himself run out and I think his wicket was the turning point of the match. It should have been a walk in the park for India even after losing Sachin.

I get the feeling with Rimmington that he is a Gabba specialist, he swings it plenty, but mostly under lights etc. Cockley played on a flat pitch, small ground, and did really well. Starc was impressive too. Unfortunately Sth Aus and WA arent producing many quality quicks, they are all coming from Vic, NSW, which keeps the old arguments burning! I'd like to see Geeves get a proper go. Butterworth is getting close as an all rounder too.

Very true, his worst return which was still good at 1-30 was at the WACA. So will be interesting seeing how he goes as the season goes on. Definitely agree with Starc, I like what I've seen on him so far. WA have the steady and experienced bowling attack where the youngsters will struggle to get past Noffke, Dorey and Magoffin. While SA have some good youngsters in George and Haberfield who should come good with more game time.

Rimmington certainly gets the ball going both ways and with the new ball rules in FRC this summer, he's likely to maintain his averages. I think his uncommon shortness helps, because although that would suggest less bounce, he is a lot more skiddy and that is good for keeping the seam in position to swing. No doubt what the selectors would like to see is some performances in big, high scoring games.

As for the side right now, I could see

Watson
Marsh
Ponting
White
Hussey
McDonald
Johnson
Manou
Hauritz
McKay
Bollinger

I don't think it loses in the batting any more than is already lost to injuries, but the important 6th bowler comes in. That gives Ponting some cover if Johnson is having a bad day, but he doesn't lose the ability to strike a wicket that Johnson has. Both McDonald and Johnson can bat enough for their spots down the order, but the players in 1-5 are the ones who have scored all the runs in the series to date, so there is plenty of confidence.

This highlights package is worth saving for the collector's. Can watch it as many times as needed.

Those sixes that Sachin danced down the track and hit off Hauritz reminded us of the 90's when Sachin used to do it regularly (especially against one Mr. Shane Warne). He was in that zone the whole innings yesterday

I guess its good that almost all of the replacement/new players have looked pretty good so far this year. Our depth in general is good, but its being pushed right to the limit! McKay was pretty good last night. With the IPL and CL etc, it gives these state players early exposure to big crowds and overseas players they wouldnt usually get to play against unless they played for Australia.

I wish the Indian team could boast of the kind of depth that Australia have with their backup players. Without Zaheer, our bowling attack looks useless and when Harbhajan isnt in form, our spin looks clueless. And less said about the fielding, the better.

Boy, he's the lord. I felt everything time-warped 10 years back when he hit that masterful hook for six.

'nuff said. Any praise is all low to this legend.

I've seen cricket winning, so many people were overjoyed and i wish people will cherish this innings, not to be ever bothered by the result of the match, which really isn't what matters.

A pure classic that just happened 10 kms from here. :p

What an Innings by the Little Master, I feel proud to be an Indian after last nights innings. Sachin is truly the greatest bastman the world have ever seen after Sir Don Bradman.

Anyways I cant believe 10-men cant score even 175 runs, after Sachin alon had score 175 runs. Well hoping Sachin could carry the same form and India could take some positives from this match to Guwhati and win it. Gonna be a day game so the pitch wont change a lot.

Hoping Sachin does produce the same innings on 11th in Mumbai when I would be watcing it live. Not expecting it because he has failed many a times when he has played in Mumbai.

Losing a match in 3 or 4 runs hurts us the most than by losing by 50-100 runs :p

You guys gotta see the newspapers, what a front-page pic of the Master. Legend :hpraise:

TO FELLOW INDIANS

Guys, it was a close game and everyone's emotions are understandably running high. But the game is over. Lets control our emotions a bit. There are 2 games to go until we become No. 1 :) !

So lets relax and enjoy the series and lets not let anyone (including us :p) upset us :)

Mate... Even if india wins the remanining two games they cant become the NO1. Before the start of the series they had to win like 5-2 to be no 1.... So now they cant!!!! :laugh:laugh

Tendulkar's still got it, what an incredibly brilliant innings from the little master. But he didn't have enough support. It's great to see what is effectively a youth Australia side doing so well, considering we are missing so many first choice players. Good to also see Clint McKay, a youngster I earmarked as a possible future test cricketer a few years ago when he burst onto the scene for Victoria, making his debut and taking 3 wickets to boot.

Aussies should be kicking themselves for making a mockery out of great winning position!!!
Seriously after scoring 350 your not allowed to let the opposition this close!

A 37 year old out of form batsman completely dominating Aussie bowlers like this is a shame and Aussies need to learn from their mistakes of allowing excessive boundries!

Aussies should be prepared to face the indian BACKLASH now that they are hurt and make sure that the series is settled to bring down the gaint!!!!

Go well Oz in the next game :clap

Why? It was the flattest pitch in the world. It was always going to be a 650 run wicket. There was absolutely no help in the wicket for the bowler.

You seem to have conveniently forgotten the fact that the 37 year old, out of form batsman has 90 international centuries and 30,000 international runs to his belt. Hardly matters. :sarcasm

Just some friendly advice. You need not have to try so hard to show that you support Australia eventhough you are Indian by birth.
