Bangladesh in New Zealand

It is going to be interesting to see how New Zealand recovers after that dismal effort in Australia.

Bangladesh lost to Auckland. Andre Adams didn't play for some reason. Good thing for Bangladesh. Iqbal got a hundred, so it's not all bad for them. Most sides lose the odd warm up game.

Scorecard

I bet NZ will thrash Bangladesh here.
All matches will be in excess of 300+ if NZ bat first.

Good start by Bangladesh in 20-20. NZ are just 19/2 in 6 odd overs. One left arm medium pacer was bowling yorkers at will.

Edit: Target of 133 would not be stiff target for Bangladesh I think if they bat like they bowled and fielded.

Was a good day of Twenty/20 cricket. NZ Masters and Bangladesh won their respective matches. Bangladesh will be glad, it's their only win against any side at any level in New Zealand ever.

Unfortunately for Bangladesh, they looked terrible running between the wickets and were atrocious under the short ball. They scored about 90% of their runs behind square too. I thought they'd be a bit better then what they were. They're going to be in trouble once they have to face the Blackcaps.

The way New Zealand is batting at the moment i dont see any reason for smile for them. I have feeling that Bangladseh might sneak in one game somewhere.

Bangladesh did just beat a side that had a fair few of the current New Zealand line up in it, so it's going to be a big confidence boost ahead of the games. Should be a good series I reckon. So long as the competitive Bangladesh turn up and not the ones that can get turned over by an U16 side.

Bangladesh have proven that they can be a competive side but they just need to find consistency and bring it into these ODI's. Tests is a different kettle of fish though and need to play more of that which they hope the ICC will let them do becuase they are capable as they have proven.

You can see why they can surprise at times in ODIs, but they don't have a show in the tests. Even though our batting is disgraceful, Chris Martin will be all over them. They struggled with the short ball, two got hit on the helmetin the twenty/20, One by Mason who is only 134kmish and once by Scott Styris, which is pretty hilarious.

For the ODIs, the only worry will be the younger/newer players How, Taylor and Fulton up the order. Ian Smith brought up a good point about Taylor, we've been batting him at 5 after he got 2 hundreds at 3. Pretty stupid. I think he should be put back to 3 for good. McCullum, How, Taylor, Styris, Sinclair, Fulton, Oram.

I seriously think that Bangladesh are going to get trounced.

Hang on they've just beaten you, and dont say yeah but we had an under strength team, it had quite a few of your stars and also Fleming and James Marshall and you have just completely written them off??

Seems crazy to me

That team was a New Zealand XI. Not New Zealand, not the black caps. It was a charity Twenty/20. They didn't beat 'us'. It had Styris and Taylor. The rest of the team were B and C grade. That side we fielded was only as strong as any of the provincial sides.

f you had have watched the game and seen how badly they played the short ball from Styris and Mason who only bowl Medium fast and Medium pace you'd understand. The running was as bad. They were excellent in the field and bowling most of the time however.

Missing: Oram, Vettori, Mills, Martin, Gillespie, McCullum, Vincent, Sinclair. t isn't even understrength, it's not the same team in the slightest.

With the kind of form Kiwis are in they should not underestimate anyone. The short ball hitting helmet might look good but it does not get you wicket. For that you need to hit stupms. One day does not mean that they are everytime going to get run out. but it was only way that they could have got out after watching the bowling form kiwi pacers.

I watched the whole thing, it may have been a NZ XI but it wasnt understrength, With Fleming that has captained in over 350 games in all formats for NZ, Styris, Ross Taylor, Jamie How, Hopkins who would have played in two CH games had it not been for the second one called off, Peter Fulton, James Marshall, Jeetan Patel and Lou Taylor

Doesnt sound under strength to me, yeah you may have had a few youngsters, and if they B C Grades why were the comentators saying that Hopkins and Southsee were basically the future of NZ cricket, Not looking too good by your opnion

Siddique was playing his first ever game for Bangladesh along with Sajidul Islam..Goes well with your two youngsters.

Your players were experienced and are well known to New Zealand Cricket and not exactly understrength, Yeah they may have had problems with the short ball but if remember a one or two of your guys did to, Remember in 8 Wickets (2 tours Tests and ODI's) your NZ Team has one game, Not great form!

My opinion we could be in for a very good ODI series and NZ will probably just take it in the Tests

Nah mate, gonna be a hiding to Bangladesh. They don't stand a chance. Consider this me writing them off.

O'Brien lost the NZ XI the game himself. Enough runs were put up on that pitch to beat a minnow team. Even though we were missing our ENTIRE bowling attack less Patel. O'Brien bowls pies. Southee was excellent. The ball was edged through the slips enough times off him and Fleming had fine leg up. Fleming may have been previously experienced, but he hadn't even held a bat since the SA tour. He's had a thumb injury. That paddle shot if one of Ashraful's main ones. Vettori will have men back there because unlike that charity match they will have done the homework. How and Hopkins are far from international quality. I don't know who this Lou Taylor fellow you speak of is supposed to be either.

You're right, it wasn't an under-strengthed side, BECAUSE IT WAS AN NZ XI, NOT THE BLACKCAPS. I had to put that in capitals so you'd read it this time. How can it be under-strengthed if it was never intended to be our best side? It was intended to be a side to give a good close match. Lets face it, no one wanted to see Bangladesh get hammered by our A side.

Sorry it was Ross Taylor not Lou Taylor

Code:
TG Southee 3 0 31 1 10.33 (6w)
IE O'Brien 3 0 29 0 9.66 (1w)

The bowling figures of both for the 20-20, The ODI series will be close but NZ will probably beat bangla bad in the Tests
