Bangladesh Tour of New Zealand 2010

^^^ Same as Ari's team.
Patel and Ingram will probably miss out.

But then again I don't see the point on selecting 13 man for a one test series.
They probably already know who they're going to leave out, so might as well drop one player, and keep Patel as he is a specialist 12th man by now.

According to 3 news, Guptill will bat 5, I'm not sure how official it was though.

Sounds about right but I don't like it one bit the guy has been an opener or number three all his career he should stay at three and let Broom make his debut at five.

It's tweaking stupid. Typical NZ selections. Guptill opens for Auckland. He's probably never had to wait so long to bat. And on the other hand Broom is used to waiting batting at 4 or 5 most of his career. Guptill has probably never batted at 5 and Broom never at 3. WHy the hell do they do this? They're morons. Oh well. Since i'm rubbishing it they'll probably do really well. It makes no sense to me. You have an opener so let him bat 3 (close to opening) and you have a 5 so bat him at 5.

Sports tonight says, very likely to be...

1. McIntosh
2. Ingram
3. Watling
4. Taylor
5. Guptill
6. Broom
7. Vettori/McCullum
8. McCullum/Vettori

That is even worse. Ok it might work if Franklin was in the top six to bowl some overs but we have enough problems bowling teams out anyway to only play four bowlers is just stupid even if it is only Bangladesh.

Interesting with Watling at 3. I dunno, he looked good when he opened last time and he's an opener. Oh well.

Hope Bangladesh bat first tomorrow and put up a really low score so that Mccullum and Taylor cannot break the fastest 100 record.

Guptill has been their best ODI batsman over the last year. Why the hella re they moving him down the order? He was playing so well as an opener/one down.

Guptill has done well in the one day form but is yet to make any impression in tests. The move to 5 is a bit odd but there are rumours that he is on notice and may be dropped from the test side if he doesn't pull finger.

There are still a handful of guys who are waiting in the wings to come back into this side, Ryder, Elliot, Franklin (shudder) and with Broom, who should be batting 5, and the number of guys who are able to open the innings it looks like he is being squeezed down the order and might get squeezed out.

Not sure, hopefully for him he makes a stand and holds his spot. It would be a travesty if Guptill got the axe and Tim Mcintosh was still in the side.

Agreed

Well today it's the last ODI. Can't wait to get down there to check out the new stand. The match itself is a bit of a waste of time. Lets hope Bangladesh can keep going one better and come a bit closer this time. Being AMI stadium expect a belter. 300 par score. I heard that the ground's side dimensions will be a tad longer I believe with the new stand so maybe another few metres out to it. Nothing substantial though. Still a piss easy hit for Taylor etc.

Weather wise it's drizzley right now but meant to clear. The rain in the ground won't be an issue because it's one of the best outfields in the world drainage-wise. Should be a gloomy day but no rain at least heavy.

Don't see the reason in moving Vettori down the order, he is NZ best batsmen atm so he should easily be in the top 6.

I admire your optimism MacLovin.

Just heard on the radio though that Vettori is asking the boys to be ruthless today. He wants it to be a complete whitewash. Wouldn't be surprised if he opts to bat first today though...gut feeling!

The new stand looks great shame the ground isn't a touch bigger.
