Bangladesh Tour of New Zealand 2010

Definitely. Sure he has scored runs at the Domestic level, but with a technique like that, he'll be found out too easily at the international level. They say "looking to the future" but Watling is the future not Ingram.

Mark Greatbatch special IMO.

Hes on the hate list with Oram now.

Ingram looked terrible in the HRV cup, he had no footwork or technique.

Both Styris and Vincent have been hard done by, Styris should be there at five while Elliot is out injured at least, while Vincent should fill in for Ryder.

No Canterbury players in either squad, it was only a few years ago that half our team was Cantabs.

Stewart should be there ffs!

If he had done well in the HRV cup I would be agreeing with you but hes been rubbish for the most part. I am sure he will get his chance at some stage just needs to have a good run of form before selection.

I'd rather he was in than Hopkins/Ingram but yeah, there were better players to select.

Don't agree with that, he's been bloody good in the 50 over format.

True but from a selector point of view they are not going to select a new player who is out of form because if he doesn't come off then they are going to look stupid at least if they pick someone who was in form they can say ok he might not be cut out for international cricket.

Had he performed in the HRV cup I have no doubts he would be in the team for at least the T20 maybe the ODI's as well. We have heaps of injuries right now and this was a great chance for him shame he hasn't taken it.

The selectors should really focus on turning Neil Broom into a specialist test batsman, I can't help but think he'll be batting at 6 or 7 in ODIs and about the same in tests (presuming he'll be selected)...(which he will ;))

As much as I don't think Peter Ingram has any chance of succeeding in international cricket, his selection is justified by the amount of runs he's put up over the last three and abit years. 2672 runs at 58.08 is pretty insane in any cricketing country, let alone New Zealand.

Hopefully he does well in these limited overs matches and we might see him replace McIntosh in the test team. Heck even if he doesn't do well hopefully we see that, Ingram if anything at least deserves a shot at test cricket.

It's good to see you back Howsie. I hope you're staying. :)

Fair point about Ingram. He has put on the runs, but then again so has Sinclair etc. The other thing about Ingram is that he just seems like an idiot. Man the cricketer's show was awkward last night with Styris hosting after missing out in the sides. He's second on the MVP table only behind Vettori too which makes it seem even stupider. Oh well, we can only hope they do well. You feel it's a temporary job anyway until Ryder, Mills and Bond return they'll probably lose their spots no matter how good they do.

LOL :laugh

you ARE joking right? :|

i wanna see Kapali in place of Ashfool

I liked Tapash. Had good pace. He did well in his last FC match as well. 3/60 and 3/35.
