Bangladesh Tri-Series

Another point I'd like to make. I think it's silly to groom Pathan as an all rounder. To be brutally critical, he's forgotten how to bowl. He's lost his action, confidence, speed and everything that we knew him for in his early days. He was such a promising bowler and I feel we've already ruined him. He should have devoted his full concentration towards his bowling. Can't help but say we've missed a trick here.

I have now found that underneath Piyush's flight and minimal turn, he is a very easy bowler to hit and it was clear that the Pakistani's had planned to attack him before hand today. He got hit for the most sixes in the IPL as well, it can't be a coincidence.

We might need to shuffle over to Ojha or Kartik or maybe even Mishra as Piyush has been 'figured out'.

We need more solidity in the middle order. Rohit Sharma, IMO has a long way to go before he matures. I agree, he should be groomed and he's a fine talent and all that, but maybe we're rushing things a bit here. I think we need more responsible players at 3, Sharma should be playing further down like 5 or 6. I think its about time to bring in Badrinath who can not only accelerate when needed but also see through a tough phase and build a platform. He's a perfect #3 for India and DESERVES a go.
Yusuf Pathan has failed and didn't impress one bit, sad considering the things he had done in the IPL.

Not too bothered with the loss, this was just practice for the Asia Cup tbh.

i dont expect india to win asia cup. i think sri lanka have a good chance

India will win it if ONE senior player plays (even ONLY Tendulkar should be ok)

I wish it was like they took Tendulkar and Ganguly both in the SQUAD then made either one of them play in the playing eleven... like alternately rotated both of them so that you know.. both of them get ample rest and the players have a senior experienced player to guide them and settle them coz all of them are young.. just one of those two in each ODI will do the trick and steady the ship.

You're right his batting and bowling both were appalling

Badrinath has to come in for Sharma. He'll shore up the middle order and provide an attacking option, if needed. But, I expect the selectors to continue overlooking him for whatever reason.

Give the poor guy one more chance (Piyush) but I agree Ojha and Mishra are just knocking on the door, they should be tried very soon specially Ojha he was fantastic in the IPL (they both should get some games in the Asia Cup... Ojha should be introduced against the weaker teams first like Hong Kong et al and Piyush should be played against the stronger ones, performances should be monitored and changes should be made -- like if Ojha plays really well then keep Piyush as the second[reserve] spinner and so on)

Badrinath is a very good choice but I feel he'd rather come in for Raina (I've never believed in Raina as an International player - he's fine for domestic games)

Raina is class. He's awesome, I think he needs to just stay there, at four or something.

he's a great number three as well.

No way, Raina is a quality performer, and I'm convinced he is of International level.

I'd field this XI, considering there are no seniors playing...

Gambhir
Sehwag
Badri
Raina
Yuvraj
Sharma
Dhoni
Pathan
Praveen
Ishant
Spinner

that's awesome IMO.

Its very hard to digest India losing a tournament having steamrolled through (the matches they played). But good for Pakistan that they jumped back up at the right time. A captain change, and they will be quite good (I vote for Misbah).

I am very happy with the way Dhoni leads the side. I guess Rohit Sharma is not the ideal No.3 for India. Gambhir should be back to No.3 and Sachin-Sehwag should open the innings. Yuvraj should be sent above Yusuf (who should be given chances, he played well today).

Waiting for the Asia Cup. Hope we can win that tournament (we are well equipped to win it)

there you go people we need senior players in the side. raina and rohit are failure in the whole series

Crap! They played decently well. We cant chop and change just like that. If Sachin is fit, he will come back. THATS IT. No place at all for Ganguly and Dravid (unless the selectors have a brain death and are recovered with all their previous memories erased)

I would place Rohit Sharma at four as that's where he impressed during the CB series. Suresh Raina at 3 and Subramaniam Badrinath at 5/6. I'd continue playing Piyush Chawla as we have to encourage him. Everyone has a bad day but he can be spectacular when on song.
