Batting in career mode is a serious issue

Respectfully, I suppose that regardless of what the AI is able to do, the issue really has a lot to do with what the individual defines as 'uppish'. To me, a foot or two off the ground is 100% not uppish at all. If it were waist height, I could see there being a problem, but calling a foot or so off the ground uppish is pure hyperbole.

A full blooded drive a foot or two off the ground in a real game of cricket wouldn't be a problem because there would be little chance of catching it, but the fielders in the game have hands like buckets and they leap like salmon, because they seem to catch virtually everything. Not so with the bowler, who seems to either catch everything or drop everything.

I think you should be able to hit the ball straight onto the pitch with a well executed shot. This should be the rule, not the exception, on a well timed shot with good footwork.

I've played no-trigger pull and cut shots which I've middled that have almost gone for six, these were on the back foot with relevant footwork and perfect timing and the batsman appeared to get over the top of the ball enough to bring it down, yet they fly uppishly with top spin like a tennis shot.

There is definitely an issue here, on all of the no-trigger shots.

Exactly. It's a problem with AI tuning, and not the shot itself!

Bollocks, real drives do not all reach the fielding circle on the first bounce, so if all DBC drives are reaching the circle first bounce there is by definition a problem with it, and it's just the wonky super fielders that are really drawing attention to it.

how do i download all ranji team and start my career using on of these teams?

We can tell you, but first you'll have to take a side in the great DBC driving debate.

So answer now : do you sensibly agree that 2 feet in the air through short cover constitutes an uppish drive and an abomination upon mankind, or do you approve of 2 feet in the air drives like some sort of sick pervert?

In the interest of becoming the first person to get an infringement in the new forum*, you're all sick perverts for blabbin' on about this so much...

There's only thing sitting 2 feet from the ground when I bat in this game...

...and that's ol' Biggs' "ethybubs twins"

*wanna see what it looks like and whether it feels as dirty as usual. Please do the needful, haterz.

Edit:

Turns out someone else got the infringement cherry pop, so I love you all and recant everything I said. For now.

Myself im not too bothered by the fielders catching everything... But the bowlers, diving and jumping across the pitch... That is pretty unrealistic, plus it kill any chance of playing a perfect straight drive...

For folks claiming to play pull & cut shots along the ground, we would love to see a few videos of the same. Pls do post any videos of these shots without using any triggers. grkrama has already posted the issues we mortals seem to be faced with as shots go at a catching height no matter how you time them. As for cover drives or flicks going along the ground, it's not the case either. If you have short cover or leg gully in place you will see a perfectly hit shot to an overpitched delivery taken by these fielders without a problem. Essentially if you hit a ball to a fielder close to the batsman in the circle, you either get dropped or caught. You barely ever hit a ball along the ground which is fielded by the fielders as you would expect in cricket. This issue definitely needs to be addressed post patch 2 and pull/hook & cut shots are in the biggest need of fixing.

Perhaps it's because it effects people's enjoyment of the game.
Seem like you have your own agenda with ethybubs. As the saying goes, I suggest you get a room.

Perhaps people go on about this issue so much because it effects their enjoyment of the game.
It seems to me that the ethybubs thing should be a private matter. As the saying goes, 'get a room'.

I will put it like this does it affect my enjoyment of the game YES
Does it irk me every-time i see it YES
Can i accept double standards for AI and me especially when its already able to time everything well and precise : NO
does it totally ruin my experience or make the game unplayable NO
Do i still Enjoy the game YES
Why am I still going on about this :Think this one area can be improved apart from field setting that will make the game more realistic and more enjoyable.

Am i making a hyperbole of it NO would seriously have made peace with it even if @BigAntStudios say that's it for this iteration, the game is certainly playable and enjoyable.

Uppish as right now is that the ball seems to be coming OFF incorrectly of the bat, this is more about getting shots correct feel than how much height it is off the ground.

Also have some interesting findings on this that will share later.

What i guess is the problem is the shot power has been increased i think for the player batsman which results in balls carrying too much before landing.

To all cover drive specialists here the cover drive to beat is this, a shot by the AI, when you can hit something gorgeous like this please post it with clear slow mo video and share how you did it i will be greatly indebted.

Straight shots (and by this I mean really straight) will find their way to the bowler's hand quite often, regardless how well you play the shot.

Interestingly, this doesn't happen that often in non-career games. I'm playing Tours at the moment and I'm able to play shots straight down the wicket on either side of the wickets. Add to that the bowler doesn't seem to show the same kind of reflexes (stopping/blocking the ball) in Tour matches makes me feel that this is a Career-only issue. The cuts/pull do go in the air though.

Ok so i for one, am really satisfied with the game on the whole... I know it has its fair share of bugs... But whenever i come across said bugs, i just remember and compare the overall experience of the game with all previous cricket games... I think everyone knows the difference... I for one never ever imagined a good cricket game ever being released so im just thankfuuuucllllll... Darn i havent slept in 2 days, im kinda high :( ...
I LOVE U GUYS :D[DOUBLEPOST=1406495537][/DOUBLEPOST]Darn i used "I for one" twice[DOUBLEPOST=1406495587][/DOUBLEPOST]Darn i used "Darn" twice

I absolutely agree with you. If somebody says that they play the pull shot along the ground. please make a video, so we all can see it. Also when I say the shot goes in the air, that means it goes about waist height in the air.. no matter how good the footwork is or the timings is, it still goes in the air, its frustrating cause I get out abot 95% of the time with pull shots. clearly seems to be a bug here.
