Story BFN Bombers - Battrick Story

After a reasonable amount of thought, a final line-up has been decided on along with the choice of whether to bat or bowl. Due to fitness concerns, we will bowl first, in the hope of knocking them over rather swiftly. Also the team will be told to take it easy, which will also conserve a bit of energy.

Suspected line-up : - Mainey(+), Gore, Nicolls, Barnard, Spiller, Furlong, Sparrow, Samuel, Soft, Singh (*), Breen.

Soft set to make his debut for the Bombers this weekend, at no.9 which sould increase our lower order ratings a bit. Although the spin rating might drop a little. Bird gets a rest with his fitness being a bit low. The pitch is going to be anyone's guess, so a bag of surprises on matchday morning!

Game has started off quite well!

Samuel knocking over the first of the resistance on a flat pitch.

0.5 W Samuel to Piper
What a corker ..... Piper just watched on as Samuel sent the off stump into row Z!!! The crowd appreciated that one

Singh getting some movent and that caused an edge to the diving Mainey

1.5 W Singh to Leacock
Mainey with a brilliant save, I mean catch! Well saved... err... caught, my son, well caught indeed.

Bowled. 'Nuff said!

7.4 W Singh to Dunne
Clearly hitting all three!

Birt of a botch in the orders tho, made a batting swap and forgot to move the bowling marker, meaning all-rounder Barnard gets a rest from bowling, and absymal LM bowler Spiller gets to turn his arm over.

At 45-3 at 3RPO its nothing to fuss about.

Note - Last update from my side, if someone is following the match please post an update or two. Match 916957.

Think he just wants the commentary he can get the scorecard afterwards but the commentary after the match can only be viewed by people with memberships.

15.5 W Breen to Lawrence
Fooled by the quick ball there, Lawrence was too late onto the shot, much to the delight of Breen.
28.5 W Soft to Yate
Furlong is running around the boundary rope..he dives..and what an amazing catch! Furlong took that in his left hand and rapped his right around it as he fell to the ground. Brilliant!

32.1 W Spiller to Horne
That's OUT! Clean bowled. Horne played his shot about a week late.

35.4 W Breen to Hilton
And it's been caught! Marvellous fielding there, absolutely marvellous!
41.4 W Soft to Wright-phillips
One step, two steps....and then fifty to the pavillion. Stumped by Mainey.
41.3 . Soft to Wright-phillips
Quickish ball, well spotted by Wright-phillips.
41.2 W Soft to Mckenna
Mckenna works that on the on side and ambles though for the run. But Singh swoops out from behind the umpire and catches Mckenna cold with a direct hit!

End of Over 44: 128-9, runrate=2.91
Soft 7-2-11-2
Wilmers* 6 (22 balls)
Huckerby 1 (8 balls)

oh this Bomber team has the great capability of bowling out the opposition so soon ;)

yeah, Bombers may make it in first 20-25 overs i guess ;)

Code:
W Wright-phillips to Mainey
Wright-phillips rolls his fingers over the seam and produces a great off cutter. Mainey spots it too late and misses. Great bowling.

Well they ahve lost a wicket, 1-27

Code:
End of Over 5: 31-1, runrate=6.20, reqrunrate=2.24 (131-10)
Huckerby 3-0-17-0
Nicholls* 1 (3 balls)
