SUNDAY FRIENDLY REPORT

scorecardla8.jpg
The Lions started off rather slowly, and Breen the SLA bowler struck with a wicket early on and brought Abdeen in, there was then a run-out which brought Rudi in, who played a good role in accelerating the score late on. A second wicket by Breen wasn't a blessing as it brough Crouch in who absolutely slogged his way to 63*, the two of them sent the last ten overs at a run rate of 11. Half that and the total wouldn't look as daunting against their bowling.

Nicholls was sent in to open due to the fact he just popped to Proficient, Gore as usual acompanied him. Nicholls didnt last long, and Gore went on rather quickly, Mainey came and went, Gore fell leaving the batting really exposed. Barnard tried to hold the fort with Spiller, but Spiller decided he wanted early tea. Furlong came in, good serveant and consistent run scorer, Sparrow the came in to replace Barnard and the two went on rather well, inching us closer to the total to keep some respect. It wasn't going to win the match but it would be a good turnaround. The rest fell quickly as Furlong and Sparrow departed.

The ratings favour Zorax, and once again prove the level of the greatness of his bowling. My ratings remain unchanged.

MONDAY TRAINING REPORT

Eddie Samuel - 18 yo, BT Rating=15,256
RH Batsman, RF Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, invigorated
An attacking player with worthless leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: mediocre Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: quality Consistency: feeble
Fielding: woeful

Its probably the training update of the century, as Samuel continues to break records in my team, first being my first player with a primary of supurb, and now he has popped to quality. He continues to be the gratest prospect in my team, all that needs to happen now, is for that consistency to get to around strong.

Ah, I was wondering why he seemed to be less effective than a Superb bowler should be, it's that feeble consistency that's bothering him. What training is he getting?

It would be 2 bowling, 1 fielding and 1 fitness. One his secondaries get to competant he'll be a completely different bowler, by next season it should be strong.

Missed that pop, coming on nicely.

Ken Nicholls - 17 yo, BT Rating=7,714
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, energetic
A cautious player with abysmal leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: proficient Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: worthless Consistency: woeful
Fielding: mediocre

That Samuels is coming along nicely, Nicholls not bad either, probably could make the u19 if you fully committed to him.

shame about the loss to zorax's team, they just seem to beat everyone

It wasn't all that bad really, could have been a whole lot worse.

Sandton v BFN Bombers (916963)

Date: 23/02/2007 at 07:30
Ground: Sandton CG

Sandton are a rather weak side, so there isn't much to worry about except keeping the Net RR up so that promotion at the end of the season is done without a play-off match.

Aura v BFN Bombers (1028099)

Date: 25/02/2007 at 05:30
Ground: Knights Castle

Aura have been round for a while, apparently our ratings are rather similar so it should mean a close match. Added to this we have never played against them.

Should be a good match between you and Voldy, more even than your last friendly anyway :p

we have been around for four seasons infact... still havent decided if i should risk it with three spinners or carry on with the regular...

Apparently Samuels and Hilton are built along the same lines... except for the fact that hilton is a spinner...

Four seasons quite a buch of experience that, This is the start of my third full season, will be four seasons' experience about half way through this one.

Hmmm, whatever works best :p As long as we have a good game i'm happy.

FRIDAY LEAGUE MATCH

BFNvSandt.jpg

Once again, ratings favour us rather um, greatly. The quicker this match goes the better it is for my trainee's fitness. Hoping to see some good batting performances if we bat first, and if we bowl first it would be nice to see a change in what happened in the last match concerning the last 10 overs.

It should be, it would also be nice to see what extremes my batsmen can score at. I'd like to settle on a fixed XI for the rest of the games now, all this fiddling has cost me now and then....

Definitely not Voldy, but it should be a cracker of a match! Really looking forward to it.
