Big Eye, Big Pitch, Big Wheel Screenshots

Basically if ports needed substantial work, such that would mean a need for the AI or other major components to be different, there wouldn't be multiplatform releases of niche titles like this - they'd just do a deal with one of the console makers for an exclusive.

For trailers/ads they'd probably need to mention the platform the game footage is from and give a warning about potential differences if there were substantial platform differences.

On trying to find examples myself, there's a myth about Assassins Creed being different from back in 2006 and an example of a PC game being ported to Xbox 360 and PS3 by different companies with different results, but either way there's still the same source codebase. Sometimes where ports are delayed between platforms, AI tweaks are done in the development process for the port - but a mutliplatform release at the same time by the same developer doesn't fall into either of those categories.

I imagine most of it is just people who are used to the PS3 or 360 controller more than the other one just claiming that the AI is different because it controls differently.

Now we have HBK posting with a Big Ant avatar as well as Ross and Mikey! As a visual learner I'm just going to assume they're all the same person now...

...Hive Mind.

The screens look good though after a series of videos over the last 2 weeks, the anticipation level for screenshots have dropped a bit :D

Not complaining though. I'm already sold on this product.

Console hasn't been my area since starting (I am on the PC version). But I have seen it in action a few times and I'm surprised at how well it stands up against the PC version looks wise.

Once the game is on next gen console would it share its features with PC or just PS4 and XboxOne?
For example the histroical data Mike was talking about?

I was thinking the same thing, maybe they could get different colours or something.:D

I am the best!:yes

It's taken all of two weeks for my modest and most humble ways to rub off... :p

And I definitely agree about it being an incredible opportunity. I love games of all kinds and being able to have influence on them and help make the product better as well is more than I could've ever hoped for.

It took a while for HBK to get the opportunity to come on board, apart from him being a mod on Big Footy, I think we met at an AFL pre-release play session which must have been a couple of years ago.

I remember one of the biggest features of the first AFL Live patch was changed Jeff Darling to Jack Darling - Eagles fans were going pyshco on Big Footy.

At least you won't have naming issues this time round!

Well I asked him to change his name but he declined so we had to change his name via the patch. Ungracious in the extreme, Jack, Jeff, same same :)

While we're on the topic - what was the biggest learning you took out of AFL Live development which you've applied to DBC14?

Well we were making this at the same time as AFL Live and a lot of the base tech survives however it much was improved through RLL2 and it is those improvements that have made their way into DBC14 - particularly with regard to the player creation stuff that has become the Academy, that all started with AFL Live but we knew it was a five year plan... it's a pity that AFL Live departed from the plan as the tech is looking good.

Got it facing backwards but that just looks weird to me... probably change it back...
