hbk, what is your favourite moment in the game so far?

----------

can someone tellme whose posts i shouuld follow? hbk, ross or mikey? mattw is there any way to subscribe to their posts as feeds?

biggest thing i'm getting from HBK's comments is this is going to be a game that's fun straight away, but takes a long time to master.
This is I think a description of exactly what a cricket game should be:
But it does feel good and the feeling of taking a wicket after working at a batsmen definitely gives that nice gratifying feeling that you get in real life.

Have you reached the stage where you can play shots without pre-meditating them? Especially, are you able to decide whether to play front or back to a delivery after seeing what length it pitches at?
I can definitely pre-meditate my shots, but whether or not that results in me hitting it well or not going out is another thing.

Generally speaking you don't ever feel safe out there on the pitch and the moment you do get some confidence and start getting cocky about your shots and shot placements is the moment when you tend to edge one or pop one straight up in the air to a fielder. Have had numerous times where I feel I'm hitting it well, knock a few to the same spot then keep trying that and bang I mis-hit the ball and I'm out.

I try not to pre-meditate as much a possible and just play each ball as it comes down the pitch towards me waiting for that moment the ball leaves the hands and watching the 'comet' ready to pick my next move.

I was pretty fricken stoked with my first 6. Felt great, looked great and I made sure to tell everyone around me. :D

Loving the inside knowledge from you HBK. This is what we should be doing and not asking (demanding) for things we do not speak of unless in a relevant forum that is easy to ignore...

Just curious, how do you go about your testing? You mentioned about doing specific things. Do you have a list of things to test for or is it just a matter of playing the game and picking up on things that happen?

hbk your posts are our only hope till the game releases:facepalm:D.....

A bit of both. For obvious reasons I can't go too in-depth about what are specifically looking for.

But sometimes you just pick the game up, jump in and see if anything weird happens. Other times you might get someone like MikeM saying "can you test this out" or one of the coders asking the same.

Obviously we track it all too, so sometimes you might just want to see if you can replicate something that has happened earlier as well, which helps with the guys trying to find the root cause of that issue.

Those are great information hbk. Do you do any kind of stress and performance testing for consoles? Not sure this can be shared. How many bugs have you found out so far?

Console hasn't been my area since starting (I am on the PC version). But I have seen it in action a few times and I'm surprised at how well it stands up against the PC version looks wise.

Good to know console version looks good. Coz I will be buying ps3 version of it. I assume it will be three different code base for Pc, ps3 and xbox. Hope AI and game play is same for all the 3 platform.

Hey HBK, thanks for giving us the info on how it feels to play the game, cant wait to get my hand on the game.. I have a question, does it feel different to play each batsman? I mean does each batsman have his own feel?? for example one batsman is settled and other just walked in, so does it feel different to play those two batsmen?? and if possible could you explain how it is different?? Thanks :)

of course it isn't.

really?i thought
most of the things are exactly the same.the differences mostly in graphics and frame rate.had no idea of this.BUT THE CODE WOULD BE SAME WOULDN'T IT?THE GAMEPLAY AND AI FOR SURE.

That's what I'm saying. It's not three different codebases for the three different platforms.

One codebase, ported to the other platforms. PC is AFAIK the primary platform that they are porting from, which makes sense with the view to have next-gen ports next year.

Because have heard in previous games that AI is better in one platform to another.
Examples?

In some previous cricket games there were essentially different games with the same name because they were on different console generations - but for 'same generation' ports, there's no AI difference.
