Story Brendon vs Callum vs Jono - A Worcestershire Battle

In the end Davies was actually better than Flowers.

Mark Davies - 65 overs, 29 wickets @ 15.3 (E/R 6.8)
Calvin Flowers - 58 overs, 27 wickets @ 16.48 (E/R 7.56)

It was only really AB that was the difference between our T20 teams.

Looking at Wheeldon's stats, it seems like you wasted a playing XI position with him.

David Wheeldon - 12 matches, 5 runs @ 2.5 (S/R 55.54) and 26 overs, 6 wickets @ 40.5 (E/R 9.35)

Comments:

Good comfortable win there. Choudhry, Stafford and Adler were excellent with the bat with a nice start to Moore as well backing up from his century. Our bowling was good as we bowled them out pretty cheaply, Flowers and Pears doing the damage with 7 wickets between them and Shantry, Wheeldon and Arif taking 1 wicket a piece.

I only do good when one of my openers (or Darbon) get going.

If you look at all of my OD matches, the common denominator in most of my wins is either Mitchell or Raval scoring runs.

That's about the fourth time this season that the other team has chased down a BS total on day four. How the fearsome tweak do the manage to chase down 300 in two and a bit sessions?

Yeah, Flowers wasn't that great in the T20 competition.

And yeah, I realise I wasted Wheeldon but I used him as a 5th bowler most of the bowler, but he kept getting smashed most of the time.

Comments:

fearsome tweak, so close. We needed 6 runs off the last over but only scored 4. They batted first and our bowling was pretty ████ as they started with a 138 run partnership before we finally made some breakthroughs but they still ended up making a huge total, Mitchell being our best bowler, taking the huge wickets of both openers.

Only Mitchell failed with the bat and we should have won but fell agonizingly short. Adler was probably the player to cost us the game as he scored 34* off 50. We now sit in 2nd place although we have a match in hand over first and a better NRR. It would be nice to qualify for the finals after doing so in the T20 and we are very likely going to win the FC competition, as we still haven't lost a game.

A good match there, Hedger. I played a similar match yesterday (India vs New Zealand). New Zealand needed 3 runs off the last over with 2 wickets in hand, they made 1 run and lost both the remaining wickets, lol. Anyways, keep up the good work guys. :cheers

BTW I didn't mention before that Darbon's got called up again for England again.

Match Drawn

A game that could have come to a close conclusion was spoiled by rain. Bowling first, they didn't make any big partnerships but got a number of starts, as we bowled them out for 353. Komasaru was the pick of the bowlers, with Finn and Rankin being reasonably expensive. In reply, Rush scored his usual century, while Mitchell also contributed. After those two however, only Kervezee hit more than 16, as the middle and lower orders crumbled to 381 all out. In their second innings we bowled much better, with Finn and Rankin making early breakthroughs, as well as injuring Mal Loye. If we had managed to get Sales out earlier, we could have had something decent to chase, but rain spoiled our chances or bowling them out, before they declared. We had no chance of making the total, and so the match ended in a draw. Rush's FC career has been rather interesting so far. He's scored 121 and 13 on debut, then 139 and 9, 7 and 105, and 179 and 17. A century each match, and a low score as well. Meanwhile, Aimson remains on international duty, and has played 3 tests for 186 runs at an average of 37.2

lol, Vic Rush is playing a lot like Isar is in my Bangladesh save, scores so many centuries but barely ever scores a 50.

Well he's averaging 73.75 so far so that's not too bad :p

When is one of my players going to play for England :facepalm

I'm guessing Adler and Stafford are pretty close and Pears will probably make it next season or the season after.

Comments:

████, they chased down 270 in only 72 overs, what I wouldn't think they'd be able to do. Flowers bowled like ████, not taking a wicket in 13 overs. Norris played one of the best knocks you'll ever see though. He struggled to get going early on but then started to move along nicely before he finally got to his first century, coming off about 135 balls. He then fired away hitting some lovely drives and pull shots as he scored 167 off only 196 balls, his last 60 odd runs coming at that run a ball rate, a stunning knock from the young batsman. He also hit 23 fours and 3 sixes in that huge innings, and only played and missed at one ball before he edged Anthony Ireland to Jansen at slip who would have been kicking himself if he hadn't caugth it after letting him get going going for 37 runs in his 3 overs and that sparked Norris's innings.

Adler continues his great form meanwhile, having got a start in 11 off his last 12 innings (all formats), and a lowest score of 40 in his last 7 FC innings. He's now scored 1656 FC runs @ 61.33 in his career.

MOTM:

Daryl Mitchell (69 off 89 and 1 for 6 from 1 over)

Reaction:

Another good OD performance again takes the sourness away from our horrid FC form.

I decided to mix the batting up a bit without two first team regulars in Darbon (International duty) and Solanki (Injured). These changes more or less worked, with decent contributions from everyone who batted.

Richardson's now gone down with injury, and like Solanki it was from playing in the highly intense second team competition.

In T20 international news, Darbon's quickfire 21 off 16 balls batting at six has helped England sneak home against India by three runs.
