KAMAL FIREWORKS!

Day One. 2:00 PM

042.jpg

Rameez Raja: Welcome back for the afternoon session of this two-day warm-up match between the Patron's XI and the West Indies. With the Patron's nicely placed at 165/2 at the lunch break, the Windies came back full of intent- They really needed a couple of wickets to get back into the match.

PATRON'S XI: 171/2

Rameez Raja: Smith was to bowl the first over of the afternoon session and Asim Kamal was on strike. Everyone was expecting a quiet start but Kamal obviously had other plans as he hit the very first ball straight over the ropes for a majestic six!

PATRON'S XI: 177/2

Rameez Raja: Smith clearly looked disgruntled and put extra effort into his next ball. But again Kamal swung savagely with his bat and this time sent the ball straight out of the ground for a huge, huge six!!

PATRON'S XI: 181/2

Rameez Raja: The relentless slaughtering continued as Smith tried a bouncer next but it didn't quite work out for him and Kamal was onto him in a flash, pulling the ball away for four! 16 runs off 3 balls- The crowd is in a complete uproar!

SMITH STRIKES AS KAMAL BOOM BOOM ENDS!

Day One. 2:05 PM

PATRON'S XI: 181/3

Rameez Raja: Well, it was needless to say the least. Kamal had just dispatched Smith's first three deliveries to the boundary and there was no need to get too aggressive, and yet on the fourth ball Kamal tried to go for the big one and ended up top edging the ball...straight into the hands of the awaiting fielder!

PATRON'S NEAR 200 MARK

Day One. 2:20 PM

PATRON'S XI: 187/3

049.jpg

Rameez Raja: With the departure of Kamal, Hasan Raza decided to continue the demolition job and went after Smith's bowling.

PATRON'S XI: 194/3
050.jpg

Rameez Raja: The new batsman was Saeed Bin Nasir and he received specific orders from his captain to not get intimidated by the bowlers or to get bogged down at the crease. Bin Nasir followed these orders to the letter as he took on Bank's spin and dispatched him for four.

PATRON'S XI: 198/3

Rameez Raja: Raza himself was no nearing his century and was proving himself to be a great captain by playing such a crucial knock. His superb cuts, off-drives and on-drives have totally put the West Indies on the back foot in this warm-up match.

BANKS STRIKES AS WINDIES MAKE A COME BACK!

Day One. 2:30 PM

052.jpg

053.jpg

Rameez Raja: After being hit for four by Bin Nasir, Banks came back strong in his next over and troubled the batsman with a few good balls. Getting frustrated, Bin Nasir tried to hit but instead got a top edge and sent the ball straight into the air, where Butler got underneath it and took a relatively simple catch!

PATRON'S XI: 198/4
054.jpg

Rameez Raja: With two wickets in quick succession, this has certainly put a new spin on the game. The Windies have fought their way back into the match, and pressure is now back on skipper Raza to bat his team out of a bit of bother.

i feel Raza can take Patrons to a great position! Still 6 wickets to go for Windies in hot climate thats going to be tough! ;)

198/4 ...still a goos score they should try to get over 350 on this track ...nice presentation buddy

Yeah, Windies need to take regular wickets if they want to keep the opposition score down- But if Raza stays in then Patron's will find themselves in a superb position. Thanks for the comments, guys!

Patrons XI need another decent partnership to really put Windies on the back foot :)

thanks treva:)

Come on Patrons if you can keep Raza in then you should steadily lol should i say quickly get a high total

NEW BATSMAN ARRIVES AS WINDIES FIGHT TO GET BACK ON TOP!

Day One. 2:45 PM

055.jpg
Farhan Adil comes in at No. 6

Rameez Raja: With the Patron's near the 200 mark, Farhan Adil comes out to the middle as the new batsman. The West Indian bowler DR Smith has just taken a couple of quick wickets for his team and his fired up; eager to get some down at the new batsman. This will be an interesting contest!

PATRON'S XI: 202/4
056.jpg

Rameez Raja: Raza brings up the 200 for his team by aggressively cutting a short ball to the boundary. A cheer rings around the ground as the crowd acknowledges the milestone but the skipper knows that there is still a lot of work to do if he wants to put the Patron's in a good position.

PATRON'S XI: 210/4

057.jpg

Rameez Raja: After facing his first few balls very defensively and carefully, Adil let loose by getting on top of one of Smith's loose deliveries and smacking the ball straight to the boundary.

PATRON'S XI: 215/4
058.jpg

Rameez Raja: Raza has kept picking away the bad balls and is now getting quite close to his century. To get a ton against the Windies would give the young skipper a huge confidence boost and be a great achievement for Pakistani cricket on a whole. Brian Lara on the other hand would be trying his utmost to get this in-form batsman out!

ADIL DISMISSED AS WINDIES GAIN UPPER HAND!

Day One. 2:55 PM

059.jpg

060.jpg

Rameez Raja: After the initial boundary against Smith, Adil was bogged down at the crease against the paceman for a couple of overs, and he eventually mistimed a straight drive and had his stumps rearranged by Smith! What a disappointment- From a strong position the Patron's are now in all sorts of trouble. Credit must go to Smith though- He has bowled superbly well under the given conditions to get these wickets. All hopes now lie more or less with Hasan Raza and whether he can get a ton and continue on from there is the big question. But all is not doom and gloom; guess what former Pakistani legend is coming out to bat next....

PATRON'S XI: 219/5
