May 15th 2007 - I don't care what anybody says, Andrew Flintoff is the best all-rounder in the world. He might not have had the best of times in Australia, but this colossus of a man is brilliant. He ripped out Glamorgan's soul today with career best figures of 5/11 as Glamorgan were routed for 98 all out. He was quick, accurate and got some unbelievable bounce out of today's pitch. As for me, I took 2 wickets for 25 in my 6 overs but quite rightly, Fred received all of the plaudits.
My first wicket was Australian opener Mark Cosgrove who played a loose drive to a fairly innocuous delivery.
The second was Brendon McCullum who despite wicket-keeping for us today, was batting for Glamorgan too. He was Glamorgan's top scorer with 36 but he soon lost his bails as I sent one through him.
It was an easy bowling day for us on a very helpful pitch but we had to be cautious about chasing it down because if they could be bowled out for 98, then by all rights so could we.
Hopefully Mal and Brendon can make short work of this target so that I can keep my feet up and not have to bat on this tricky, sticky wicket.
Breezing Through
May 15th 2007 - Well that was easy. I managed to get my first List A half century as myself and Brendon cruised Lancashire to an 8 wicket victory. I really enjoyed myself out there today as I hit a precession of fours and sixes and pictured below are the two biggest sixes i've hit in my career so far.
There isn't really much more to tell apart from the obvious fact that Fred got the MOM which is a bit of a no-brainer really. I was happy with my performance on a personal level as for the first time in my career I dominated an attack and I was also thrilled from a team perspective as we maintained our superb 100% record.
Last seen at 3rd March 2007 06:54 PM, it is believed that Matthew Roberts went on a huge binge drinking weekend with Brandon Flowers, Matthew Pritchard and Neg from 'Balls of Steel'. Eye witnesses to the drinking believed that Roberts got absolutely smashed and was constantly calling out for England cricket international, James Anderson, to be with him during his drinking session. Roberts therefore has missed Lancashire's last 3 county games and has blown his chance at an England call-up.
If you have seen Matthew Roberts please contact Lancashire Cricket Club immediately. Their website is http://www.lccc.co.uk/.
