Sinhala Ranaweera vs CMOT's Dibblers

A change of pitch this time, A Cracked Uneven, Murray won the toos and we trudged along in to bat...

0.1 W Sura to Murray
That was vicious! The ball spat up off the pitch towards Murray's throat, who could barely fend it away let alone play a decent shot, and it looped straight to Ellington at backward point.

He did mention Sura was his best bowler...

10.2 W Lepolesa to Overton
That was in the air for a long time, Maxim got under it, nearly dropped it and finally cradled it at the fourth attempt. Lepolesa's heart was in his mouth there.

Out for 25, yet again...

12.5 W Lepolesa to Naidoo
Got him! Hit on the toe, plumb in front and Naidoo may be nursing a broken toe along with his shattered pride.

43, thats good...

18.6 W Lepolesa to Wijenayake
Out! A magnificent catch by Evan in the outfield. He caught it while still suspended in the air. That'll go down as one of the great catches of the decade.

36 off 23

End of Over 34: 198-4, runrate=5.82
Peters 7-0-51-0
Duminda* 23 (40 balls)
Dharmasena 47 (72 balls)

Looks pretty decent

34.2 4 Lepolesa to Duminda
Short, wide, you know the drill.

34.4 W Lepolesa to Dharmasena
There was a sudden rush of adrenaline and Dharmasena stepped out of the crease only to find Mccormick do the rest of the job beautifully. Stumped!

Out at 47 :( Murphy in

Very chaseable total especially if Viral has rested some of his bowlers.

End of Over 50: 290-4, runrate=5.80
Islam 10-0-61-1
Sagren* 63 (56 balls)
Ahmed 25 (14 balls)
Last Wicket: Abdul kadir c. Sam b. Islam 17 (FOW: 254/4)

End of Over 38: 216-5, runrate=5.68
Peters 9-0-56-0
Murphy* 5 (10 balls)
Duminda 31 (53 balls)

runrate dropping cause Murphy and Duminda are going for dot balls and singles, i just hope they can bat for 50 overs and put something out there to defend.

38.1 4 Lepolesa to Murphy
Beautiful cover drive races to the fence. That's four runs for Murphy. You won't see a better shot today.
38.2 2 Lepolesa to Murphy
Good use of the feet as Murphy punches the ball through mid off.
38.3 3 Lepolesa to Murphy
Expertly hit towards the boundary by Murphy. Peters's after it though, and that's a great stop. He saved a certain boundary though, and they complete three runs.

Woot! Way to go Murphy!

End of Over 39: 227-5, runrate=5.82
Lepolesa 10-0-47-4
Murphy* 15 (15 balls)
Duminda 32 (54 balls)

That will do...

Slow start to the chase.

End of Over 2: 7-0, runrate=3.50, reqrunrate=5.92 (290-4)
Govender 1-0-4-0
Liddle* 2 (5 balls)
Steele 5 (7 balls)

Lol Viral opening bowlers have the same surname.

42.4 4 Sura to Murphy
That?ll push the run rate on. Cracking shot.

End of Over 43: 251-5, runrate=5.84
Sura 7-0-51-1
Duminda* 43 (63 balls)
Murphy 27 (30 balls)

I am happy :)

BTW Viral, if you cant beat aussie, then you cant beat me :p

43.2 4 Barend to Murphy
Barend tried to fool Murphy with a slower ball, but he telegraphed it! Murphy knocked it over the rope on one hop.
43.5 4 Barend to Murphy
That shot oozes class. Smashed away by Murphy to the cover boundary for four.

He is taking all the runs that he is going to give away as a bowler

End of Over 44: 263-5, runrate=5.98
Barend 7-1-33-0
Murphy* 37 (34 balls)
Duminda 45 (65 balls)

45.3 1 Barend to Duminda
On the front foot, flicked around to the region of mid wicket, deep backward square running wide to field.
And that's his fifty! Well played.

45.6 4 Barend to Murphy
Ahh, crunching cover drive from Murphy. Four Runs!

I dont mind even if i lose the match :p

End of Over 46: 278-5, runrate=6.04
Barend 8-1-42-0
Duminda* 51 (71 balls)
Murphy 46 (40 balls)

my worst bat on 46!

46.2 6 Sura to Murphy
Like a bat outta hell that ball has gone, gone, gone! Six runs!
And that's his fifty! Well played.
46.3 4 Sura to Murphy
Edged wide of Mccormick and four.

Sensational! Best batsman today!

Viral is resting players to get you into a false sense of security :)

7.3 W Govender to Liddle
The ball nipped back as he went for the pull and he gets a fine edge. Harley and Govender appeal like one man and the umpire sends Liddle back to the changing rooms.

Best batter in next with run rate starting to build.

End of Over 10: 41-1, runrate=4.10, reqrunrate=6.25 (290-4)
Govender 5-1-18-1
Steele* 20 (28 balls)
Weaver 6 (6 balls)
Last Wicket: Liddle c. Harley b. Govender 14 (FOW: 27/1)

Weaver has come out firing today good to see :)
End of Over 11: 55-1, runrate=5.00, reqrunrate=6.05 (290-4)
Govender 6-0-37-0
Weaver* 14 (9 balls)
Steele 26 (31 balls)
Last Wicket: Liddle c. Harley b. Govender 14 (FOW: 27/1)
10.6 1 Govender to Weaver
Turned off the hips down to the crowd's favourite Al ameen
10.5 6 Govender to Weaver
A big slog from Weaver and it has hit the sponsors blimp! Six runs and free advertising for the men raising their glasses over in the hospitality box opposite us.
10.4 1 Govender to Steele
On the toes and played out to the fielder at deep square leg.
10.3 4 Govender to Steele
A fraction too short and Steele is very quick to rock back and pull it for four. He got into position superbly to play that shot.
10.2 1 Govender to Weaver
Wide of off, steered down to third man, Ahmed fielding.
10.1 1 Govender to Steele
Flicked around to the deep mid wicket region.

49.5 6 Barend to Murphy
That was just brute force and ignorance from Murphy. I think we might read about a few UFO sightings in the local news tomorrow if he carries on playing like that.

Second last ball of the innings...

End of Over 50: 321-5, runrate=6.42
Barend 10-1-64-0
Murphy* 75 (55 balls)
Duminda 65 (80 balls)

Easy to defend...

Hopefully these two can stay in to about the 40th over and lift the rate around there.
End of Over 17: 81-1, runrate=4.76, reqrunrate=6.36 (290-4)
Moodley 2-0-5-0
Steele* 38 (50 balls)
Weaver 27 (27 balls)
Last Wicket: Liddle c. Harley b. Govender 14 (FOW: 27/1)

Bugger spoke to soon, need Chavanga to have another one of those days to be any hope now.

18.2 W Moodley to Weaver
Hits the pad, big shout from Moodley... and the umpire raises the finger! Weaver went for the sweep there, but there was very little spin or bounce on that one and he's been trapped plumb in front.

Moodley is killing me

20.2 W Moodley to Steele
Thin edge and gone. Great take by Harley, diving to his left!
Love my Chavanga once again keeping my team in the game.

There that guy again :)
23.3 4 Whitfield to Chavhanga
Forward, smacked over a vacant wide long off boundary, well placed.

26.1 4 Moodley to Chavhanga
Four, good ball on the off stump, Chavhanga moves back to defend, gets an outside edge between gully and the slip cordon, ball runs away to the fence.

Masibulele coming to the party now.
27.3 6 Whitfield to Masibulele
Two steps down the pitch, a big swing of the arms and the ball is sent packing back over Whitfield's head!

Two 6s in 2 Whitfield overs for Masibulele now.

29.2 6 Whitfield to Masibulele
He hasn't even hit it hard but it's sailed over the ropes! Pure timing.

Another ripper install for the Baggy Blues. Not a great last over only 3 off it.

End of Over 43: 236-6, runrate=5.49, reqrunrate=7.86 (290-4)
Govender 7-1-31-1
Chavhanga* 90 (74 balls)
Shorey 20 (17 balls)
Last Wicket: Pollard c. Malik b. Al ameen 5 (FOW: 195/6)

The Bevan of the Baggy Blues fires a quickfire 100. Hopefully this time his knock gets us home.

44.6 4 Govender to Chavhanga
Chavhanga moves right across to outside off stump and lifts that over short fine leg for four runs. Govender will need to rethink his field positioning
And that's a century for Chavhanga! Well played indeed Sir!

Your an outright chance. But your only problem is the wickets lost. Other than that, your a massive chance.

Playing Joe for the 2nd week in a row. I won the toss and batted. I lost by new batsman Gravey early. Its on a green pitch by the way.

Code:
4.4 W	Sadlier to Gravey
Gravey has failed to pick the slower ball, as it loops mockingly and traps him plumb in front.

But Collins has come in and got into the action:D

Code:
5.4 6	Mellor to Collins
Kneels and sweeps the ball beautifully out of the ground! In the distance I heard a faint smashing sound and then a car alarm going off, I hope it's not mine!

Code:
End of Over 6: 24-1, runrate=4.00
Mellor	3-0-12-0
Fisher*	9 (12 balls)
Collins	8 (7 balls)
Last Wicket: Gravey lbw b. Sadlier 6 (FOW: 15/1)

Way less than outside, 10 balls to spare to be exact :)

Was a bit too slow posting the remaining commentary but Chavhanga hit a few 4s after his 100 and Shorey did a few.
Chavhanga hit 2 4s in the last 2 balls of the 47th over, Shorey took a single on 48.1 and Chavhanga hit the winning run next ball.

Baggy Blues 6/291 in 48.2 overs (Chavhanga* 119(91), Shorey* 45(32) )

Code:
 Sri Krishna Team Baggy Blues
Top Order: feeble feeble
Middle Order: feeble feeble
Lower Order: abysmal woeful
Seam Bowling: feeble feeble
Spin Bowling: competent feeble
Fielding: feeble abysmal
MOTM: Chavhanga

13.3 W Cornick to Robinson
That one's coming down with snow on it, and held magnificently by Fabian. Cornick is delighted with that catch and mobs Fabian.
13.2 W Cornick to Steele
Yes, Steele has just clipped that and it's easy as pie for Trench. He's out!

Good couple of balls there, really exposed them. Cornick is playing brilliantly.

End of Over 16: 85-5, runrate=5.31
Cornick 3-0-5-4
Hadley* 4 (9 balls)
Darby 0 (1 balls)
Last Wicket: Corcoran c. Trench b. Cornick 17 (FOW: 85/5)

Those are some good figures. ;)

Now 5-5! Brilliant stuff. :D

Cornick 4-1-5-5

I was doing well at 75-1 but then.

Code:
15.1 W	Mckenna to Fisher
Short pitched delivery, Fisher attempts to pull, thick top edge sends the ball straight up. Mellor stands under it and takes a comfortable catch.

Code:
17.1 W	Mckenna to Jeffers
Great reaction catch by Cockerill, taking a ball flicked down leg side at full stretch.

Code:
18.5 W	Wingham to Collins
Collins has not picked that one from Wingham. He tries to get forward but it's bat-pad and into the grateful hands of silly point.

I sense 150 all out:(

Code:
End of Over 19: 90-4, runrate=4.74
Wingham	5-0-16-1
Crabb*	4 (6 balls)
Toney	2 (1 balls)
Last Wicket: Collins c. Ingram b. Wingham 35 (FOW: 88/4)
