Commentary Thread

I'm going very bad. 400 on the cards for the opposition.
But they're in IV and have some awesome players so it doesn't really matter.

End of Over 30: 218-1, runrate=7.27
Longrigg 5-0-18-0
Thompson* 104 (89 balls)
Gibbons 4 (11 balls)
Last Wicket: Willmott c. Bridges b. Caskey 107 (FOW: 207/1)

That sucks 350 is a minimum there.

Solid enough bowling debut from Muller.

End of Over 30: 103-3, runrate=3.43
Muller 10-0-32-0
Ball* 6 (20 balls)
Pye 10 (29 balls)
Last Wicket: Steyn lbw b. Roberts 38 (FOW: 87/3)

Not lovin Islam figures now.

30.3 4 Islam to Pye
Great shot! He leant forward and drove inside out, over wide mid off. Very deliberate, very skillful and very well placed.
30.6 6 Islam to Pye
That's gone miles back and landed in a dustbin. I wouldn't like to bowl the next spell now.

Hmmm
32.3 4 Islam to Pye
That pie has been dispatched to the boundary

A few more games of this from him and he will be dispatched too.

Check out the bowling figures from one of my bowlers!!!!

Handbury 10-0-104-0 ROFL!

End of Over 34: 256-1, runrate=7.53
Longrigg 7-0-30-0
Gibbons* 26 (26 balls)
Thompson 118 (99 balls)
Last Wicket: Willmott c. Bridges b. Caskey 107 (FOW: 207/1)

Lol not even my bowlers went for a 100 when we went for 400.

Shorey is having an awesome day
35.2 W Shorey to Ball
The corridor of uncertainty pays dividends as Ball tickles an edge behind.
End of Over 38: 145-4, runrate=3.82
Shorey 9-1-32-2
Pye* 32 (50 balls)
Beech 10 (13 balls)
Last Wicket: Ball c. Masibulele b. Shorey 15 (FOW: 133/4)
Grrrr Islam still conceding 4s.

36.5 4 Islam to Beech
Pulled that for four. Maybe Islam should try pitching it in Beech's half.
38.2 4 Islam to Beech
Bada-boom bada-bing. One bounce and into the crowd.

Yes! Finally got a wicket! Woo!
A couple of wickets in fact since I last refreshed the page..

35.6 W Caskey to Thompson
Attempted hit over the top picks out the safe hands of Qadir at long on.

38.2 W Lisbie to Gibbons
A short ball and he pulls it to Cohen at deep square leg.

End of Over 39: 291-3, runrate=7.46
Lisbie 6-0-44-1
Chikosi* 2 (2 balls)
Carless 12 (7 balls)
Last Wicket: Gibbons c. Cohen b. Lisbie 45 (FOW: 282/3)

I'm still looking at chasing 400.

Islam ended with the not so good figures of 10-2-51-1

End of Over 40: 163-4, runrate=4.08
Shorey 10-1-40-2
Beech* 21 (20 balls)
Pye 38 (55 balls)
Last Wicket: Ball c. Masibulele b. Shorey 15 (FOW: 133/4)

End of Over 43: 329-3, runrate=7.65
Lisbie 8-0-67-1
Chikosi* 12 (10 balls)
Carless 40 (23 balls)
Last Wicket: Gibbons c. Cohen b. Lisbie 45 (FOW: 282/3)

10 an over is gettable. Look at Carless. He is 40 from 23 balls. Afridi-esque.

40.5 4 Lisbie to Carless
If over 2000 years ago, the Greeks had stuck a Gray-Nichols in Achilles' hand, even he, the great warrior, couldn't have been any more destructive than Carless was playing that shot. A killer blow for four!

Roberts my spinner doing the closing manages a wicket.

43.4 W Roberts to Beech
That has spun all the way and taken out leg stump! Beautiful delivery!

Hmmm Sam taking a hammering now.
8-0-49-0

Very impressive spell of bowling from Roberts though. If there is a good thing to come out of this sets of 5 it is Roberts taking 2 wickets at the death.

45.2 W Roberts to Pye
Plumb in front of middle peg. Pye has to walk.

End of Over 49: 375-4, runrate=7.65
Caskey 10-0-72-3
Laws* 6 (3 balls)
Carless 65 (40 balls)
Last Wicket: Chikosi c. Cohen b. Caskey 27 (FOW: 368/4)

Mmmm. Not so good.

Oooh cool. I got a wicket before.

48.2 W Caskey to Chikosi
Full length delivery outside the off stump, Chikosi slices it away in the air towards cover and Cohen plucks it out of thin air! That's a stunner!

Not a good last over from Roberts :(

47.6 4 Roberts to Duff
Magnificent shot, lad. Crisp and out of the middle of the bat, no chance for the cover fielder. Four runs
47.5 1 Roberts to Lufu
In the air . . . and safe! Lufu picks up a fortuitous single.
47.4 1 Roberts to Duff
Duff goes for a quick single but it's gone straight to Muller at mid wicket and his throw hits the stumps at the bowler's end. Duff is in a dusty heap on the floor. Did he make his ground? The third umpire says yes.
47.3 4 Roberts to Duff
Duff leans back and pulls it well in front of square and it races away for four.
47.2 1 Roberts to Lufu
Roberts won’t be happy, poor fielding lets the batting side steal a single.
47.1 4 Roberts to Lufu
Shot! What a shot indeed. Any keen youngsters out there could do an awful lot worse than study that particular stroke.

Mangalagiri CC v Record Breakers

Match coming up for me. Record breakers is my team.
Green pitch, Cloudy conditions. Should be a low scoru\ing one , not 375 for sure.:p

We can tell you that Record Breakers won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloud day.
Hey won the toss here.

Excellent start by my openers

0.4 4 Hughes to Liddle
Short delivery and Liddle hooks it towards the boundary. One bounce and four runs.
1.6 4 Lufu to Steele
Shot! Lufu drops it in too short, Steele sees it like a pumpkin, rocks back and pulls powerfully through mid wicket. Not perfectly timed, but he certainly gave it a clout.
1.5 4 Lufu to Steele
That one's dropped in short and Steele's eyes light up as he swivels and pulls that handsomely over mid wicket.
2.6 4 Hughes to Steele
Hughes finds some bounce and the ball spits up at Steele who guides it down to third man quite brilliantly.
4.6 4 Hughes to Steele
Pitches outside off stump and moves away. Steele plays away from his body and gets a thickish outside edge down to the third man boundary.
7.5 4 Lufu to Steele
Steele timed that to perfection right out the middle of the bat. If the fielding side had a whippet fielding he wouldn't catch that!
8.2 4 Hughes to Liddle
Belted past extra cover and the valiant dive of the sweeper can't stop four.

End of Over 12: 78-0, runrate=6.50, reqrunrate=4.26 (239-6)
Halls 1-0-16-0
Liddle* 29 (38 balls)
Steele 47 (34 balls)
11.6 4 Halls to Steele
If there are any youngsters out there who want to learn how to play cricket properly, then they should watch this man.
11.5 6 Halls to Steele
A magnificent shot, soaring high above the outfield, destined for six runs!
11.4 1 Halls to Liddle
Played to third man. He wants two but the non-striker sends him back.
11.3 4 Halls to Liddle
Overpitched by Halls and Liddle smashed that one through cover point for four.

Well played Steele

13.3 2 Halls to Steele
Steele belts the ball down to long on where some great fielding saves two runs.
And that's his fifty! Well played.

Geez Halls is taking a hammering. Halls 3-0-36-0

Thats awesome.. Steele and Liddle doing it again ;)

And my match has started just now,
We can tell you that Lucknow CC won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloudy and humid day.

Rested, Bartlett and Hamed.My team,
HuntingTigers have picked Rampaul, Folds, Malik, Alshaun, Field, Paki, Baloch, Wotton, Love, Bolland, Macdonald.

:( I wanted to bat first and see... Anyways, scorecard at the moment,
End of Over 3: 7-0, runrate=2.33
Macdonald 2-1-2-0
Govender* 5 (10 balls)
Ali 1 (9 balls)

6.3 . Sanders to Paki
Catches the bottom edge and Paki just manages to get his foot to the ball to keep his wicket intact.
6.2 . Sanders to Paki
Well bowled, perfect line and length, difficult to score from that one.
6.1 . Sanders to Paki
Sanders bowls that on the stumps, and Paki just knocks it into the ground.

7 overs 28/2 nice start from my freshers. They have been signes copule of days ago.
