Commentary Thread

Wow awesome over to have before happy hour.

Nothing much from Chav and Masi is slowing down again.

End of Over 40: 222-1, runrate=5.55
Mcveigh 7-0-49-0
Chavhanga* 12 (17 balls)
Masibulele 99 (114 balls)
Last Wicket: Ray c. Angell b. Hodge 102 (FOW: 198/1)

40.2 W Schalk to Handbury
Schalk shouts like a kid on Christmas morning, and the umpire's given him out LBW!

40.1 W Schalk to Sturgess
That one found its way through the thinnest of gaps between bat and pad, the ball then ripping the middle stump from the ground. It's still bouncing as Schalk celebrates!

Absolute bull . Another fricken collapse. WHy is battrick so cruel?

Omfg.
40.6 W Schalk to Alnwick
Ahh, there's no sweeter sound than the clatter of the stumps as they get knocked out of the ground. Alnwick was beaten by the shear pace of that delivery.

41.2 W Hitchman to Caskey
Goes for an expansive drive and gets a thick inside edge onto leg stump. Out.

This is going a bit far....

That really sucks Sean.

Masi is so slow...
Reverse jinx I hope

41.1 4 Mcveigh to Masibulele
Shot! Moves back to give himself room, then steps elegantly into an aerial extra cover drive which nearly carries for a clean six. It's a clean four instead!
41.2 4 Mcveigh to Masibulele
Short delivery and Masibulele hooks it towards the boundary. One bounce and four runs.

42.2 4 Hodge to Chavhanga
It's short and it's wide, and it's clobbered through the gully area by Chavhanga.
End of Over 43: 246-1, runrate=5.72
Hodge 8-1-30-1
Masibulele* 113 (126 balls)
Chavhanga 21 (23 balls)
Last Wicket: Ray c. Angell b. Hodge 102 (FOW: 198/1)

42.1 4 Schalk to Bridges
Bridges uses his feet well and lofts the ball into the vacant extra cover region. Clare chases in vain as the ball skips over the rope.

Finally... Forgot he was still in.

End of Over 43: 247-8, runrate=5.74
Schalk 7-1-47-3
Bridges* 8 (6 balls)
Longrigg 1 (7 balls)
Last Wicket: Caskey b. Hitchman 0 (FOW: 240/8)

7 from the over. Hopefully Bridges can hog the strike.

Edit: Instead he gives a single first ball and I'll lose a wicket here.

43.2 3 Hitchman to Longrigg
Edged but Longrigg dropped his hands late and the ball went along the ground through the region of third slip. They scamper three.

LUCK!

Thats bad to see those collapses Sean.. But still you will be in alright position at the end of 50 overs ;)

And Syl, with wickets in hand, you are likely to end up in setting a huge target :)

Well, in my match, bowlers are struggling.. Lampard is batting so well. Scorecard at the moment,
End of Over 43: 189-4, runrate=4.40
Hamed 7-0-29-1
Dunn* 37 (37 balls)
Lampard 79 (90 balls)
Last Wicket: Henry c & b. Clarke 12 (FOW: 116/4)

Badly need wickets :(

Really, my players have ears to listen to whatever I say,

43.5 W Clarke to Dunn
Big appeal for a catch at silly mid on. GIVEN!

:D

Hitchman 10-0-37-1
Longrigg* 5 (9 balls)
Bridges 10 (10 balls)
Last Wicket: Caskey b. Hitchman 0 (FOW: 240/8)

Wow, I still managed 6 off the over.

Thats bad to see those collapses Sean.. But still you will be in alright position at the end of 50 overs

But I could've made 300!

Nice fightback Sean.
I'm sure Hamed/Clarke will clean up like he usually does.

Why won't BT give me more than 10 runs an over :(
43.3 4 Angell to Masibulele
Good length delivery on the off stump, moving away from Masibulele who lofts it over point. Good shot!

44.1 4 Hodge to Masibulele
Masibulele comes down the wicket and plays a majestic drive through the covers. He danced right to the pitch of that delivery and Hodge could only watch in awe as it disappeared to the boundary.

44.5 6 Schalk to Bridges
Well he's hardly seemed to hit it! But it's gone for six!
44.4 4 Schalk to Bridges
He's cantered down the pitch to that like a mad giraffe - unorthodox but it's certainly done the trick and keeps the scorers busy.
44.3 3 Schalk to Longrigg
Longrigg will have to settle for three after his cover drive didn't quite make the ropes.

Good work boys.

Oh Masi

45.5 4 Angell to Masibulele
Masibulele clatters it straight back down the wicket. Angell puts his foot out, but can't take any of the pace off the ball. Four runs.
45.6 4 Angell to Masibulele
Down the leg side and Masibulele just helps it on its way to the fence for four.

End of Over 46: 276-1, runrate=6.00
Angell 9-0-75-0
Chavhanga* 27 (29 balls)
Masibulele 137 (138 balls)
Last Wicket: Ray c. Angell b. Hodge 102 (FOW: 198/1)

45.2 3 Binnion to Longrigg
Not quite timed by Longrigg, but it races away towards the boundary. Great chase by Bulathsinghala keeps it to three.

That's his 3rd three.

End of Over 46: 273-8, runrate=5.93
Binnion 8-0-43-0
Longrigg* 11 (14 balls)
Bridges 24 (17 balls)
Last Wicket: Caskey b. Hitchman 0 (FOW: 240/8)

That's an amazing innings there from Masi. Superb stuff!

Amazing stuff from Masi :clap

And in my match, Hamed strikes,
46.3 W Hamed to Bradshaw
The ball brushes the batsman's pad and Rampaul has an easy take behind. But hang on, what's this? The fielder at Point has a joke appeal and the Umpire has triggered! Bradshaw’s team mates had better keep away from him because he does not look happy!

lol, appealed for joke? :laugh ;)

End of Over 47: 218-6, runrate=4.64
Hamed 9-0-40-2
Lampard* 97 (101 balls)
Pearse 1 (2 balls)
Last Wicket: Bradshaw c. Rampaul b. Hamed 8 (FOW: 216/6)

End of Over 47: 278-8, runrate=5.91
Schalk 9-1-65-3
Longrigg* 14 (18 balls)
Bridges 26 (19 balls)
Last Wicket: Caskey b. Hitchman 0 (FOW: 240/8)

This is a great effort from the 8th wicket.

Eh. I jinxed him.

47.3 W Binnion to Longrigg
Longrigg has come right up the pitch to that one and missed completely, an easy stumping for Rodrigo![

End of Over 48: 280-9, runrate=5.83
Binnion 9-0-45-1
Bridges* 27 (20 balls)
Tahir 1 (2 balls)
Last Wicket: Longrigg st. Rodrigo b. Binnion 14 (FOW: 278/9)

Please just stay on for the final 2 overs.

48.4 4 Schalk to Tahir
Stroked through the covers and Hamed won't catch that.

Omg. My number 11 hits a four! Think it's his first ever four.

48.6 W Schalk to Bridges
Nicked and gone, good catch by first slip. Carruthers had a hard time keeping his eye on that, especially since Rodrigo was diving across in front of him.

Damn, my batsmen couldn't hold on until the 50th over.

End of Over 49: 288-10, runrate=5.88
Schalk 10-1-73-4
Tahir* 7 (5 balls)

That's a very good total and wasn't one of those bad collapses you usually have.

Masi gets 150 and out.

49.1 1 Hodge to Masibulele
That’s just nudged away for a single.
Thats his 150. A fine knock.

49.3 W Hodge to Masibulele
What a gem. That's pitched about a foot outside off and come back sharply through a massive gate taking the off stump with it.

49.5 4 Hodge to Chavhanga
Angell dives in vain as the ball races away towards the boundary.
And that's his fifty! Well played.

End of Over 50: 314-2, runrate=6.28
Hodge 10-1-47-2
Chavhanga* 51 (41 balls)
Quintus 1 (1 balls)
Last Wicket: Masibulele b. Hodge 150 (FOW: 308/2)

Well, no collapses occured in the end, but Clarke managed to get a wicket in last over,

49.1 W Clarke to Pearse
Pearse didn't seem to pick up the slower ball and played right over the top of it.

So at the end of 50 overs,

End of Over 50: 237-7, runrate=4.74
Clarke 10-1-49-4
Lampard* 106 (107 balls)
Shackell 1 (4 balls)
Last Wicket: Pearse b. Clarke 10 (FOW: 235/7)

Clarke bowled well today  Lets see how the chase begins. :)

Target 238 for Hunting Tigers.

Clarke is in some good form lately. You should be able to chase down that target.

Major carnage at BB Colosseum of Pain
0.2 W Hitish to Harper
Give me an 'L'! Give me a 'B'! Give me a 'W'! What does that spell? LBW! He's out!

Clayden had the opportunity for a hattrick but missed it.

1.5 W Clayden to Shoeshoe
And that's out! Shorter ball, cut in the air and straight to Chavhanga at point!
1.4 W Clayden to Wellens
Gone! Clayden nails Wellens! Landed on a length, around middle stump, moved in and Wellens was beaten on the forward prod. It was probably hitting the leg stump. The umpire agrees.

Another to Hitish.

4.3 W Hitish to Pieters
Pieters tries to cut, but is on to the ball too late and edges onto his stumps.
