Commentary Thread

Well my match started... My team going into this match with two consecutive losses.

We can tell you that East Bengal won the toss and elected to bat.

Got an early wicket,

1.2 W Love to Ahmed
Huge shout for LBW...and it's given! Replays are suggesting that was missing leg stump but the decision has gone Love's way!

This sounded great but soon after, bowlers started struggling. Huge partnership was developing..

End of Over 19: 140-1, runrate=7.37
Macdonald 4-0-33-0
Ghandi* 64 (60 balls)
Hitish 62 (51 balls)

Last Wicket: Ahmed lbw b. Love 5 (FOW: 13/1)

It was so frustrating to see this.. but Love brought some compensation to it.

Code:
19.5 [COLOR="red"][B]W[/B][/COLOR] Love to Karthikeyan
Good ball. Love hit those wooden stick things in the ground and the twigs on top went flying.
19.4[COLOR="red"][B] W[/B][/COLOR] Love to Ahmed
Gone. Clean bowled. Simple as that.
19.3 [COLOR="red"][B]W[/B][/COLOR] Love to Islam
Beaten all ends up. Islam knows that sound and doesn't even bother checking the stumps before making the long march back to the pavilion.
19.2 [COLOR="red"][B]W[/B][/COLOR] Love to Ghandi
Love fires it in short, Ghandi ducks, his bat held high. The ball doesn't bounce as much as he expected and it crashes into the 'periscope' and lobs up to third man

Four wickets in four balls... Amazing Love :hpraise

End of Over 20: 144-5, runrate=7.20
Love 4-1-18-5
Hitish* 62 (51 balls)
Moodley 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Karthikeyan b. Love 0 (FOW: 144/5)

Love was the only bowler having dominated in bowling department by taking all the five wickets. Lets see whether my team can chase 144.

Chase began with fireworks,

0.2 6 Malik to Bishop
That's going, going gooooone!!!!
0.1 4 Malik to Bishop
The delightful sound of willow on leather and off it races to the square leg boundary for four.

But Bishop too went in hurry
0.4 W Malik to Bishop
Bishop has mistimed his shot and Malik and Moodley are appealing! The umpire seems to be nodding, and he's out - leg before wicket!

Hit out or get out eh?

2.2 6 Malik to Malik
Malik stands there in disbelief as the ball sails out of the ground. New ball please!
2.4 4 Malik to Bartlett
Driven beautifully down the ground for four.

Scorecard at the moment,

End of Over 3: 31-1, runrate=10.33, reqrunrate=6.71 (144-5)
Malik 2-0-23-1
Malik* 13 (9 balls)
Bartlett 8 (5 balls)

Last Wicket: Bishop lbw b. Malik 10 (FOW: 10/1)

Fireworks continue :happy

3.2 6 Hitish to Malik
Hitish goes for the yorker but it turns into a waist height full toss and Malik deposits it cleanly over the mid wicket boundary.
3.1 6 Hitish to Malik
That has gone so far back it's put a hole in the window of the press box. Massive, massive shot! The crowd are going wild!

Terrific smashings by Malik!!! ;)

Fireworks continue,

6.5 6 Naidoo to Bartlett
He's got right underneath that one… high, high over the outfield and six!
8.3 4 Moodley to Malik
Good connection! Can Chanderpaul get his fingers to it? No, it's through and over the rope.
8.2 6 Moodley to Malik
Malik has walked down the wicket and swatted it over the long mid wicket

Fifty for Malik,

8.5 2 Moodley to Malik
A risky two, but they make it.
And that's his fifty! Well played.

scorecard at the moment,

End of Over 9: 88-1, runrate=9.78, reqrunrate=5.18 (144-5)
Moodley 1-0-16-0
Bartlett* 27 (21 balls)
Malik 51 (29 balls)

Last Wicket: Bishop lbw b. Malik 10 (FOW: 10/1)

Commentry box window damaged :D

11.3 6 Naidoo to Malik
And that's coming towards us... six through the commentary box window!

Malik enjoying well ;)

Malik is on excellent mood today,

12.1 4 Moodley to Malik
Played past a diving mid on fielder for the boundary.
12.5 6 Moodley to Malik
That's careened into the stands and ended up in someone's pint glass! Six runs...

Malik was dismissed when the match was about to get over,

16.1 W Malik to Malik
Malik is not happy with that. Everything was wrong. It pitched outside leg and he got an inside edge, but the umpire's given him out. He might get a fine for waiting so long before walking off.

Well, the winning runs,

16.6 1 Malik to Bartlett
That was a close one. If Islam had hit the stumps with the throw, Bartlett would be back in the pavilion.

And that's the end of the match. HuntingTigers won by 8 wickets.

East Bengal 144-5
HuntingTigers 145-2

Bartlett* 46 (43 balls)
Malik 85 (56 balls)

Good comeback by the team after two tough days.

That is a superb win! Well done! :clap

As for me, I lost a very close game in which the opposing team just reached the target with 3 balls to spare!

And that's the end of the match. Broady won by 9 wickets.
walderslade walverings 118-10
Broady 121-1

End of Over 16: 121-1, runrate=7.56
Tench 2-0-20-0
Blair* 46 (37 balls)
Another comfortable win on TIE

What a match !....

Needed 18 of the last over and reached it with one ball to spare.

Code:
End of Over 19: 176-4, runrate=9.26, reqrunrate=18.00 (193-1)
Gigaba	4-0-23-3
Clare*	88 (72 balls)
Lefu	4 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Kerr c. Hindle b. Gigaba 17 (FOW: 172/4)
19.1 4	Barraclough to Clare
The chase is on for Malesotho but I don’t think he’s going to make it…..four runs.
19.2 3	Barraclough to Clare
That’s a great shot, equally good fielding on the ropes saves a single.
19.3 1	Barraclough to Lefu
Smacked to a wide long off. Knight doing well to prevent the boundary.
19.4 6	Barraclough to Clare
Uno, dos, trés, cuatro, cinco... that's gone all the way. Six of the best!
And that's a century for Clare! Well played indeed Sir!
19.5 4	Barraclough to Clare
Overpitched and Clare walks into that one with an exceptionally elegant straight drive which cuts between the men at mid off and mid on.

A nice upset if you look at the reporters summary..

Hunting Tigers : Total (3.3 overs, 1 wickets) 22

here is how my bowlers bowled today,

Clarke 0.3 0 0 2 [/B][/COLOR]

Good win to the team :onpc

I got another massive win on TIE today. I made 223-1, Blair got 105* off 58, he averages 72 in his normal career and 200 in his BT20 career :D and the best part is he isn't even that good! Cockerill made 65, my rubbish batter and brilliant keeper. He'll be a good bat soon, i hope! Thay chipped in with 43 off just 14! Only 6 balls weren't boundarys!

Then bowling McKenna was poo again but he shouldn't be my number 1 bowler and the rest were brilliant, Sadlier 3-32 he's back to being good,Wingham 2-9, Cameron 1-4 Hokcley 3-10 they were all out for 71! I won by a lot!

PAN

chasing 188

last over 6 off 6

6 off 4
2 off 3
1 off 2
1 off 1

then it was a dot :(

And that's the end of the match. It has ended in a tie!!
Roraima 188-1
Sneaky Penguins 188-7

You guys seem to be doing well, I now have to rely on the leaders of my group staying unbeaten and me thrashing my remaining opponents, which should be easy as they have very poor bowling line-ups.

So I look like I have an outside chance of making it just like last year!! :p

Fingers crossed eh???

A sorry looking scorecard for my batting today though!! :(

My bowlers are ripping up today.

0.1 W Hitish to Kerley
Kerley tried but he couldn't pull the bat away quickly enough. Great movement off the seam and it flies into Germon's hands.
0.4 W Hitish to Eyre
Sharp rising delivery which jags back in a mile after pitching outside off stump and topples both the batsman and the leg stump!

3.3 W Shorey to Hulse
The ball keeps low and shoots into middle stump, Hulse glares at the pitch and he trudges back to the pavilion.

End of Over 4: 30-3, runrate=7.50
Shorey 2-0-16-1
Owens* 8 (3 balls)
Oconnell 6 (7 balls)
Last Wicket: Hulse b. Shorey 11 (FOW: 21/3)

Good start Syl with the bowling ;) i feel, an easy win is about to come today for your team :p

17.4 1 Snowdon to Richardson
He hasn’t quite timed that, but they’ll still come through for a single.
And that's a century for Richardson! Well played indeed Sir!

Richardson knocking up a form changing ton.

17.1 4 Snowdon to Dodds
Dodds edges this into the air but somehow it evades backward point. He really needs to get his feet moving better.
And that's a century for Dodds! Well played indeed Sir!

Dodds continues his great Twenty20 form.

End of Over 18: 213-0, runrate=11.83
Snowdon 4-0-50-0
Richardson* 100 (52 balls)
Dodds 109 (58 balls)

Finally once my guys are doing the owning!

0.5 W Bradshaw to Clarke
The umpire had no hesitation in raising his finger but I'm a little sceptical. It seemed to hit Clarke above the knee roll and he also had a good stride in.

Oh yeah!

End of Over 1: 0-1, runrate=0.00, reqrunrate=12.00 (227-0)
Bradshaw 1-1-0-1
Seeby* 0 (0 balls)
Heath 0 (1 balls)

Awesome start for my boys. My great game so far continues!

2.1 W Bradshaw to Heath
Heath tried to guide that one to Shackell at fine leg but ended up chipping it to square leg. Easy catch. Very embarrasing for the batsman, we can see him blushing through his grill.

Bradshaw great game continues!

End of Over 3: 9-2, runrate=3.00, reqrunrate=12.88 (227-0)
Bradshaw 2-1-4-2
Seeby* 4 (6 balls)
North 3 (3 balls)

Look at Bradshaw's figures! Amazing in any form of cricket let alone Twenty20.

14.3 W Shackell to Seeby
OUT! Seeby goes for the sweep, misses, and, yes, he?s given him! Great bowling!

Woohoo! Got this under control but I thought I would be doing better.

End of Over 16: 142-3, runrate=8.88, reqrunrate=21.50 (227-0)
Dixon 3-0-32-0
North* 44 (32 balls)
Jackson 8 (7 balls)

It is going to take something special to lose game now.

16.3 W Bradshaw to Jackson
Jackson shuffles across his stumps to a ball of fullish length from Bradshaw. Trapped plumb in front.

16.5 W Bradshaw to Begum
A big mix up between the batsmen results in a disappointing end to Begum's innings.[/
16.4 W Bradshaw to Whiting
Clearly hitting all three!

A hattrick for Bradshaw! He has owned them today :)

So I lost as expected, but I protected my NRR to some extent, as hoped. However, I wasn't bowled out, finishing at 4/147 and I can't help but think I could somehow have made closer to 200 and made a game of it.

Bowlers couldn't finish them off letting them make 6/175
First time Shorey has bowled this series and he has taken 4-30

Batting, Captain Steele continues his bad run up the order with a duck. Ray and Liddle didn't let me down however. Ray finally making a decent contribution with a 47 ball 103. Liddle with good support with his 70 runs in 40 balls.

Baggy Blues making 181 in 15 overs winning by 9 wickets.
