Commentary Thread

It's not strange, it happens everywhere. Even the international teams end up in a heap. There is absolutely no sense to the system.

My match going tight against borncricketer! My bowlers did a good job in restricting them below 300. And now a close chase in progress.

End of Over 36: 191-1, runrate=5.31, reqrunrate=5.86 (272-3)
Rampaul 8-1-29-0

Paki* 40 (46 balls)
Bishop 102 (96 balls)
Last Wicket: Bartlett c. Folkes b. Ali 43 (FOW: 113/1)

I never expected to provide such a resistance. Hope it goes on well for Tigers. :upray:upray:upray

Noooooooooooooooooooooo........ I also thought that it was a SIX!

37.6 W Rampaul to Bishop
Six runs there... OH MY GOD! Give that man a slice of cake! He deserves it with such an outstanding catch! Seems this team trains gymnastics! Brilliant skill shown by Mckenzie

Outstanding catch to end an exceptional innings. Well played Bishp :hpraise Provided the needed start.

End of Over 40: 210-2, runrate=5.25, reqrunrate=6.30 (272-3)
Rampaul 10-1-39-1
Paki* 48 (57 balls)
Malik 7 (7 balls)
Last Wicket: Bishop c. Mckenzie b. Rampaul 105 (FOW: 199/2)

63 from 60 balls. Tension!!! Tension!!! :upray: Com'on Tigers! :shout

That is a very close game, Suren! The advantage is with your side though. The required RR isn't too high, & with so many wickets in hand, you should win this one! :)

Decent effort by me v Old Wulfs in my opinion. 212 all out is not the best, but my bowling attack is strong at the moment, although today I am with out my Monster Appleyard (according to WC)

Yes, wickets in hand is helping my team at the moment. Still my captain, Alshaun to come. :)
Code:
40.2 [B]4[/B]	Alshaun to Malik
That was a nothing ball and it got what it deserved. Four through mid wicket.
40.4 [B]1	[/B]Alshaun to Paki
Paki has a swipe outside off stump. The ball is in the air for a long time, but lands just in front of third man running in from the boundary.
[COLOR="DarkGreen"][B]And that's his fifty! Well played.[/B][/COLOR]
40.5 [COLOR="Red"][B]6[/B][/COLOR]	Alshaun to Malik
That's a six on any cricket ground in the world. Massive hit by Malik.
42.6 [B]4[/B]	Alshaun to Malik
Split the field superbly, and even an energetic dive from Masilo cannot prevent the ball rolling over the rope for four. Superb shot selection from Malik
43.3 [B]4	[/B]Tau to Paki
Forward, smacked over a vacant wide long off boundary, well placed.

Paki and Malik getting those useful boundaries and reduced the RRR too.

End of Over 44: 248-2, runrate=5.64, reqrunrate=4.17 (272-3)
Tau 10-0-68-0
Paki* 63 (69 balls)
Malik 30 (19 balls)

Last Wicket: Bishop c. Mckenzie b. Rampaul 105 (FOW: 199/2)

Malik is playing exceptionally well. ;)

Wow, Malik is trying to finish the game as quickly as possible. The win is almost certain for you now! :)

0.4 W Samuel to Ainsworth
Length. Edged. Out. Unlucky Ainsworth.

2.3 W Samuel to Folkes
Well that was travelling. So is the batsman. Gone.

4.3 W Samuel to Sohail
Thick edge and... taken by Meyer. That was a great catch, Sohail just looks on in disbelief.

End of Over 5: 14-3, runrate=2.80
Samuel 3-0-9-3
Green* 5 (11 balls)
Duminda 0 (3 balls)

Going rather brilliantly against Briggsey, good to see its a sunny day so the medium pace of Vusi wont be a huge threat.

Yes, the game has finished with Tigers winning by 8 wickets. I just can't believe this victory. :)

And that's the end of the match. HuntingTigers won by 8 wickets.
DeViLiSh AnGeLs 272-3
HuntingTigers 273-2

End of Over 48: 273-2, runrate=5.69
Masilo 8-0-40-0

Malik* 38 (28 balls)
A.Paki* 80 (81 balls)

Its completely a team victory. Everyone contributed to their best and did it for the team. Great win for HuntingTigers. :happy

Oh by the way, totally, just 5 wickets have gone in total match. What a batting paradise. ;) Tough luck borncricketr! As I said, I never thought that I would win this game.

Superb win! :clapYour bowling was terrific to restrict the opposition to 270 & the batting quite solid too. :)

Samuel has buggered it for me. Its a good job I bat to 9. Anything over 150 would be decent considering the position we are in. Still hopeful of victory! :p

End of Over 50: 203-9, runrate=4.06
Samuel 10-1-24-6
Moodley* 85 (108 balls)
Mcmahon 1 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Bignot c. Mainey b. Samuel 3 (FOW: 195/9)
Very pleased with that considering we were 37-5. Bowlers are more than capable of defending that and its probably 100 more than we should have been allowed to get! Hopefully we can now show BFN are a 1 man team :p

Double hattrick I'll have to get that comm of Griffo :p Barrowdale the MOTM got 7-38 top effort that.
Very good effort to restrict Angy to that total.

Managed to keep Cable wicketless. Chav failed but Masi stepped up along with Quintus, both making 100s.
Got the target with 9 balls to spare.
Baggy Blues 4/260 (Masibulele 113, Quintus 101)

Erm, a 4 man team actually! Maybe even 5 on a good day :p Shocking bowling performace in the middle of the innings...AGAIN! I can think of matches against top opposition in the last four weeks where that happened ( Wulfs and Pal x2) and I went from controlling the match to practically throwing it away.

Now after a shaky start hopefully my batsmen can pull through.

And that's the end of the match. BFN Bombers won by 3 wickets.
Briggs Bullets 203-9
BFN Bombers 204-7

I beat Briggsey! So much for a one man team eh! ;)

Now to show you all some of the most tense last 10 overs ever!
End of Over 46: 204-7, runrate=4.43
Burdett 7-0-48-1
Samuel* 4 (6 balls)
1 (3 balls)

45.5 1 Burdett to Samuel
Samuel keeps the scoreboard ticking over.
45.4 . Burdett to Samuel
He goes for a slash outside the off stump and Duminda fields.
45.3 1 Burdett to Singh
Stroked into the covers, sweeper fielding.
45.2 1 Burdett to Samuel
He hasn’t quite timed that, but they’ll still come through for a single.
45.1 . Burdett to Samuel
On target, yorker length and swinging in late. The batsman digs it out to cover.

End of Over 45: 201-7, runrate=4.47, reqrunrate=0.60 (203-9)
Vusi 8-1-36-5
Samuel* 2 (2 balls)
Singh 0 (2 balls)
Last Wicket: Barnard c. Duminda b. Vusi 7 (FOW: 201/7)
44.6 . Vusi to Singh
Great fielding at backward point. He's saved at least two there.
44.5 . Vusi to Singh
Singh looks for a quick single but is sent back by his partner.
44.4 W Vusi to Barnard
Yes, Barnard has just clipped that and it's easy as pie for Duminda. He's out!
44.3 . Vusi to Barnard
Stroked into the covers.
44.2 . Vusi to Barnard
Down off and left to Duminda but Vusi has fallen over. Barnard can't stop laughing.
44.1 6 Vusi to Barnard
And that's in the air and six runs, brilliant shot from Barnard. I wonder what must be going through Vusi's head after that shot.

End of Over 44: 195-6, runrate=4.43, reqrunrate=1.50 (203-9)
Burdett 7-0-45-1
Barnard* 1 (3 balls)
Samuel 2 (2 balls)
Last Wicket: Glody b. Burdett 85 (FOW: 191/6)
43.6 1 Burdett to Barnard
Stroked to the on side, long on running in from the boundary.
43.5 1 Burdett to Samuel
Gently played down to long on and Sohail runs around to keep it down to a single.
43.4 lb1 Burdett to Barnard
The ball comes off the pads for a leg bye.
43.3 1 Burdett to Samuel
Worked around the legs to deep backward square.
43.2 W Burdett to Glody
After some confusion, Glody realises that the noise he heard is the death rattle and off he goes. Now we wait for Duminda to find the bails.
43.1 . Burdett to Glody
Glody carefully pushes the ball back down the wicket with a solid defensive stroke to safely defuse what was a tricky delivery. Good bowling by Burdett.
43.1 wd Burdett to Glody
Burdett saw his girlfriend sitting in the stand and then bowled straight to her.

End of Over 43: 190-5, runrate=4.42, reqrunrate=2.00 (203-9)
Vusi 7-1-30-4
Glody* 85 (141 balls)
Barnard 0 (1 balls)
Last Wicket: Spiller lbw b. Vusi 0 (FOW: 190/5)
42.6 . Vusi to Barnard
Solid stroke right back down the pitch.
42.5 W Vusi to Spiller
Absolutely plumb! By the time the bowler looked back to the umpire, the finger was already up.
42.4 W Vusi to Mainey
Mainey is arguing that he was far enough forward to that one. Umpire's not having any of it, though. On your way.
42.3 . Vusi to Mainey
Short ball, and Mainey pulls it powerfully only to be stopped brilliantly by Folkes.
42.2 W Vusi to Nicholls
Good length ball outside off stump, nipping in off the wicket. Nicholls moves forward and tries to square drive, but only manages a big inside edge onto the stumps.
42.1 1 Vusi to Glody
Glody pushes that one wide of Burdett for a single.

End of Over 42: 189-2, runrate=4.50, reqrunrate=1.88 (203-9)
Burdett 6-0-41-0
Glody* 84 (140 balls)
Nicholls 89 (104 balls)
Last Wicket: Gore c. Vusi b. Mcmahon 6 (FOW: 13/2)
41.6 . Burdett to Nicholls
Slower ball outside the off stump, left alone.
41.5 4 Burdett to Nicholls
Worked to fine leg and a misfield brings four.
41.4 4 Burdett to Nicholls
A glorious cover drive for four. A more handsome stroke you will not see today.
41.3 1 Burdett to Glody
A cheeky scamper for one by Glody.
41.2 1 Burdett to Nicholls
Good pull shot, fielded at square leg for one.
41.1 1 Burdett to Glody
Glody plants his front foot down the wicket and flicks the ball down to third man. Nice use of Burdett's pace there.

End of Over 41: 178-2, runrate=4.34, reqrunrate=2.89 (203-9)
Vusi 6-1-29-1
Glody* 82 (138 balls)
Nicholls 80 (100 balls)
Last Wicket: Gore c. Vusi b. Mcmahon 6 (FOW: 13/2)
40.6 1 Vusi to Glody
Driven to the left of mid on who makes a leaping stop. Good fielding as he ran ten yards before throwing himself full stretch to grab the ball.
40.5 1 Vusi to Nicholls
Nudged round the corner and they amble a single.
40.4 4 Vusi to Nicholls
Driven off the front foot through mid off.
40.3 4 Vusi to Nicholls
A great front foot pull shot by Nicholls. That'll race away to the boundary for four. Folkes had no chance to stop that.
40.2 1 Vusi to Glody
He plays a neat stroke down to the third man boundary where it is nicely fielded. One run.
40.1 1 Vusi to Nicholls
Nicholls just keeps the scoreboard ticking over with a gentle prod to mid wicket, and the batsmen jog a single.

There was a moment there when I really thought I was going to lose, but the team held it's nerve and pulled through!
