Commonwealth Bank Series Feb-Mar 2011/12

Gutted I'm sat in the school as my namesake, Kohli, causes havoc.

He's always had the potential and the class, but this tour has done him wonders.

Corrected ;) Thats when he started performing.

Now, what?
even if Aussies win, Sri Lanka will qualify, since they have way too better NRR:(!

Dude.... NRR doesnt come into play at all.

Sri Lanka need a win or a tie/abandoned match to go through to the final. If they lose, THEY ARE OUT!!!!

Yeah! Not sure about that...! Their net rate will go down if they lose.

You cannot expect them to lose like how they lost today! Even Australia will prefer to face Sri Lanka in finals, so Aussies could drop down a second XI, resting all main players:/

The team with the more no. of wins against the other goes through. Only if they are tied on the no of wins against each other does NRR come into play. Even if Sri Lanka win against Australia, they tie with India on 4 wins. And India have won 2 games against Sri Lanka vs the 1 game Sri Lanka have won. So India go through if Sri Lanka lose.

If Australia win, Sri Lanka NRR will be in -ve i.e India will have more NRR.

This is not likely to happen, with Aussies doing "just a win." Aussies really need to defeat Lanka like how India did today!

Explains the stuff:).

Read this on cricinfo below points table.

In the event of teams finishing on equal points, the right to play in the final match or series will be determined as follows:

The team with the most number of wins
If still equal, the team with the most number of wins over the other team(s) who are equal on points and have the same number of wins
If still equal, the team with the highest number of bonus points
If still equal, the team with the highest net run rate
