Crick4life(Ravi) ODI AI patch Ver 3

but your patch is not 20 over compatiable is it.

i need a 20 over compatiable patch for my thread

Although I didn't tweak it for 20 overs in particular this time, nothing really has changed for 20 over game from the last patch so I don't see any reason why you couldn't use it for 20 overs too. Instead of scoring 200 runs in 20 overs I guess this patch will let CPU score 150-170 runs(don't quote me on this) and you will only possibly be able to chase 150 runs.

Ya!, great to see u'r patch again ravi. will be a good patch.

Boss

I found one thing particularly interesting in your patch and that is Batting seems easy but 6 hits shots are hard to implement .On the other hand, rolling shots are easy to play and it good approach that keep on going. And then in end attack the bowlers as 4 hits shots really flows well .Good work.

I have had few PMs asking me to upload the latest patch and here we go. Please make sure you use Graphics Editor Ver 3 to install the field set up for ODI and Config editor 3 to "Import AI". Using Graphics editor use import as zip and choose the field setup file included in the attachment.

These are few points of to conider if at all you want to use this patch :

1. Batting is easy but run rate fairly realistic(I hope).
2. No need to worry about those yorkers, easy to score of them. You can use ondrive, leg glance or even straight drive to keep the yorkers away.
3. CPU batting has not really been tinkered too much from the old patch but given the new stroke files it may be easy to contain the CPU to realistic scores.

This patch is only ODIs in hard mode. I have no intention of tweaking it for normal and easy levels as of now. Test cricket patch will come up in due course when I start the online test match cricket after the current ODI series.

For good results use Sam's no cursor exe when batting and use Sam's exe without runout bug. You could also use Sam's new exe Ver 1.2 if that works for you.

If you want to leave any comments you are more than welcome to.

Cheers

hi ravi
what is the best whether to bat in sam's exe no runout bug & bowl in sam's exe patch version 1.2
when i am playing if thereis any change tell me

The best patch so far

Now if somebody asks me the definition of percentage cricket, then I will recommend them to use this patch.
Believe me this is the best patch that I have come across in terms of batting.
I have seen many patches where batting is made more and more difficult, but believe me I never played with them for long time as I have the naural tendency to bat with full fluency and I know we all have the same.
This patch provides fluency in all the strokes but the only thing that matters now is the timing. Better the timing, high chances of boundaries.
For instance, I played against Aussies (10 over) and I tried to blast in first few overs, but landed up with 2/3. Then I settled down with Ganguly and Yuvraj and they shared the partnership was for 40 odd runs in run a ball with pure timing shots... no wham bham.
Ganguly initially struggled with 2 of 10 balls but ended with with 33 of 30 balls.
I eventually lost the match, but that is what I am expecting in Hard mode. Wins should not be easy to come by.

Suggestion to improve this patch further:
Lots of shots are getting inside edge towards the keeper and look unrealistic. This needs to be improved.

Hmmm.... excellent review mate I could not have appreciated more than what you have. After a very long time I realised if we have to enjoy the game we have to enjoy batting but at the same time be able to not score big shots as and when we like.

I concur with your comments about the inside edge ending up towards the keeper. I wanted those to be inside edges but all around the wicket guess I didn't tweak it well enough. This patch was not really created to be made available for downloads but there are still guys who play with my older patches hence I had to release it. Taking the patch from where it is right now to tweak little things isn't such a major job.

There is another area which needs improving for sure that is reducing the number of fours and then the patch will be almost perfect. Thanks for your comments and they are pretty much in line with my thinking too :) .

I would recommend playing with Sam's exe 1.2 if that works for you. I wish I can play with it too but it slows down the game terribly on my pc hence cannot afford to play with it.

Batting had to be easy as we (Shailesh and I) are playing an online cricket game at the moment :p . Both of us were dreadful trying to keep out the yorkers in our previous online games :noway . Luckily for us the sixes are hard to hit which is good. This patch made it darn easy to keep those yorkers out and no wonder we are enjoying our batting right now. Thanks for your comments anyways :)

Batting is the big part of the game because most of the people only bat more and it really have improved it to extent.

This is probably the last of the ODI series patches I guess. The patch is tweaked to fullest extent along with the odd edges we had in Ver 3 et al. I didn't test it thoroughly but this time around the scores should definitely be realistic and shot making still easy but for the aerial ones. I think it gives a good feel of the cricket game, just very good to bat with. Don't know much about the bowling part and CPU of course will be competetive enough.

Make sure you install the fields in the zip file using Graphics Editor Ver 3. This is exclusively for ODI matches and may not work very well for test matches.

Cheers
