Cricket Academy questions

next post by Ross...."We have set up a manual 'walking off' button" ;)

I actually don't know!

I don't think we do have a walk button - I know we have the appeal button because I use it, the guys I play in the office aren't gentlemen so I'd never walk for them so it's never crossed my mind! :p

If we don't have it already then it's very unlikely to make it into the game, I will check though.

Why would u walk off when there's DRS???:facepalm

I would suggest for "gentlemanly" conduct - there could be gameplay in that - I would imagine that if you show reasonable conduct then you could be more likely to be believed by subsequent umpires...

I thought by not doing so u can decide whether to go for DRS or not....:yes

Ross, honestly we do not need a walk off button. It would probably be the most underused button ever making it quite a pointless addition.

Was just trying to push the game to its limits. At last a 'No'. So, I know that the game is real. :)

It's just the BCCI that complains of it, none of the ppl here. DRS is something that must be adopted, the sooner our board learns it, the better.

I think it was a little joke, not an invitation to send this thread down that long hazy road which leads to Tumbleweedville, population one.

About the visual indicator on keyboard, we don't really need something on screen. But here is my idea, how about blinking caps lock lights or any other lights on keyboard for few seconds to indicate payers about edge or such. Surely making a game realize fake key input shouldn't be that hard?

PS: Please don't make manual walk button. We don't need useless button that limits the number of available button which can be used for more appropriate tasks. People are never going to get enough so be prepared to see loads of these kind of requests in future. It will be best for everyone to use that time for polishing game rather than creating button that serves no use!

And that too was a plain statement. Didn't mean to send this thread 'down that long hazy road which leads to Tumbleweedville' or whatever.

I am wondering how much time there would be between a release of Cricket Academy, which cannot be too far away now, and the actual game. I think it is a very sharp move to release the editor, get people making squads etcetera, getting them excited about the game, and virtually guarenteeing that they will buy the game after all the hard work and expectation generated by the editor.

With all this talk about the visual/audio feedback for faint edges, I think we didnt focus on the one important thing......

"THIS GAME HAS FAINT EDGES" :D

That was also one of the most 'requested' feature if I remember correctly :)!

Hey Ross, does the commentary dynamically potray what is happening on screen....e.g. say there was a faint edge and I go up for the appeal....the commentary would be on the lines..."Thats a huge appeal <Excited tone>....andddd........Not Out says the umpire <disappointed/surprise tone>!! I did hear a noise there though....would be interesting to see the replay of that" :)!!!
