@hedger: Yes, to all of the above:

1. for non-bowlers you can just leave all the bowling stats blank.

2. you can just add a column.

3. you can leave the swing stats blank for spinners.

Cheers
Kurt

With swing, seam and spin, I see the maximum is 40 but should I be going that high, I'd guess probably around 15 would be the max for a great swing or seam bowler and maybe 35 for someone like MacGill who could turn the ball that much (although he'd be retired).

But what about with the best swing bowlers in the world, let's see. What should I have as Jimmy Anderson's outswing (Off Swing) rating?

@hedger: Aaah, I see what you're saying - you're going to have to play it by ear. Guys like Anderson, Steyn, P. Kumar and Johnson can all swing the ball sideways, so their swing stats should be in the upper range too. How much swing they get is determined by their bowling skill, their swing stats and the pitch and weather conditions.

Ok, done all the NSW players. Please tell me if I've done anything wrong so I can correct it. It's also much more time consuming than I would have thought, I'll try and do one or two teams each night and get through them. btw, how's that South African squads list coming along?

@hedger: Very impressive stuff :) I'm going to put the spreadsheet on the 1st page so that people can see what the final product should look like.

I haven't had a chance to start on the SA squads yet, but our T20 tournament just started again, so I should be able to get some fairly accurate stats and such.

Ok, I have guessed a few of the swing/seam stats but tried to get as accurate as possible. I looked at Starc's 2 ODI's and he's been mainly bowling around 140 kmh, his highest I saw was 143 kph and the cricinfo commentary was mainy him bowling in swingers or a bit of movement off the seam. I can probably have the Australian squads done before Saturday if I don't get too much homework but the English squads will take a fair while, probably the full weekend and then I can work on New Zealand squads probably during the next week and slowly get it done. Did you also want to introduce the Associate nations (Netherlands, Ireland, Scotland etc.)

----------

And I'll be getting rid of Philander from that list for the time being. I just had him there as to use an example for the other players.

A question a bit related to the player skills but let's just say there was 2 number 1 batsman and 1 number 2 batsman in the starting XI and the 2 number 1 batsman were slightly better than the #2 batsman, would they open with the 2 best openers (both #1's) or the better #1 and the #2.

@hedger: Yup, unfortunately there's no easy way to fill in all these statistics. I'll be doing the same for quite a few of the local players here too.

I'd *love* to introduce the associate teams, but know next to nothing about their players. Unless you or someone else knows the players, we're going to have to base it on cricinfo's stats (the website I synchronise from doesn't have the associate teams yet).

----------

EDIT: Also - I've uploaded hedger's NSW team on the 1st page. It's in an Excel spreadsheet. If anyone would like to create Associate teams, please take a look at how the data is set up in the spreadsheet. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

----------

@hedger: It depends - if the second #1 batsman was much more skillful than the #2 batsman, the the #1 batsman would open with the other #1 batsman. If they were more closely matched, the #2 batsman would open instead.

I don't think there should be any difference. If there was a 75 rated #1, 74 rated #1 and 73 rated #2, they should use the 2 #1's.

And to be honest, I don't think anyone else should do it for accuracy purposes.

@hedger: Hmm, let me see what I can do about the ordering...

Also, you make a good point regarding the accuracy -

@Everyone: If anyone would like to contribute to the player and team rosters, please complete a player list per team and send it to hedger_14.

Yeah, India would be most helpful. If you wanted to actually help me more, tell me the players' main ability (e.g. Outswinger, Inswinger, can swing the ball well both ways, seam bowler etc.).

Oh and if you actually wanted to help me more, then just tell me the player name - batting hand, bowling type.

For example, I did this for the New South Wales team before I started editing.
