Cricket Leagues - Support and Advice

10th is pretty easy. In fact 9th is tougher than 10th. I was down with Malaria and worse the medicines were of very high dose (curse the doctor) and I started spitting blood a times (looks so serious but wasn't that much). I wasn't able to complete any paper in the exams due to weakness but still passed with distinction. :p I was an average student so my joy knew no bounds when I got that result.

That said, don't take it too easy X std boys. You still need to pass it. It will be easier than what it is thought of but it obviously won't be a cakewalk.

Net run rate plays an important part in a league and every league manager is expected to know how to calculate it. Some managers for one reason or the other are not able to calculate the net run rate of a team properly. Thus, to help them, I attach with this post an excel file in which net run rate can easily be calculated. I've entered 8 teams and the scores of upto 12 rounds can be entered in the sheet. Net run rate upto 3 decimal points is calculated in the attached file. I hope it helps the managers, especially the new league managers who seem baffled to find a way to get correct net run rates.

To add to the previous post, you could total the values or get the average, it still gives you the teams in the same order.

I got a question
Is lonwabo tstsobe underrated in leagues ? He is in no.1 ranking as a bowler

He has played just 35 ODIs and he in no way can be better rated than the likes of Morne, Steyn, Lee or any other bowler who has been there for a long time. Consistency is one big factor while rating a player and thus consistency for say, a 100 ODIs is definitely better than that in 30 odd ODIs.

Fenil, nice work on this. I downloaded it. Thing is it divides the runs by twice the overs. :p

Code:
=((B5/(C5+(D5/6)))

B5 is runs, C5 is overs while D5 is number of balls. This gives half the actual NRR. Minor mistake, can be manually corrected.

Also, the overs aren't calculated as in Cricket. 0.6 = 1 over. Here it goes on as in mathematical terms. Any solution to that? I'm trying to workout but, so far haven't been able to..

Just to let you know, I've found the solution. If you permit, I can post the file here..

I've posted this here numerous times as well; scroll to the bottom for the (online) calculator:

Info On Net Run Rate By North Cricket Club

Yeah, I used this all this while. Thing is in all these we need to add up and enter the overall figures and save the records manually. Now with the excel file, I can have for/against for each time along with the NRR all at one place. Makes it much more easier to copy to the league's standings table. I've customized it for the current IPL (8 teams, 14 rounds) and it can be easily modified for any other league as well.
