Actually I'll give you the answer as it is a tricky question.

The answer is Timothy Bevington who played county cricket for Middlesex between 1900 and 1904 before emigrating to Canada and playing for the national team.

His connection to Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy? His full name is:
