Oh wow!!! I would doubt that anyone saw this coming.

Now all we need is the patience to see Mr Boycott score a hundred with it.

Actually all jokes aside, anyone who has the concentration to bat as long as Geoff Boycott routinely did deserves respect, especially with his record. 151 first class centuries, 22 of them in tests not to mention the frustration he inflicted upon opponents, for mine as a player he is one of the greats.

Perhaps more surprising is I got to Boycott's Bat from Viv Richards... Have already done Viv's SS Jumbo (looks great though can't find the correct font for the back) and went on to his Slazenger V12 & V500. Looking for Slazenger images & found the Boycott bat - seemed easy enough & would fit in with the Rebel Tours so gave it a whirl.

doesn't show up perfectly being so small, i'll try and get a better shot of it, but this is the old ACB logo that was on Aussie shirts from at least the 70s to the early 90s. (n.b. XXXX sponsor is @quincy159, my work is just the emblem)

I have also done the test kit and sponsors for the 2005 England Ashes side, as well as the England logo.

have some issues to resolve re the ACB emblem but will release the England kit and sponsors once I've done the Aussie 2005 ones.

I notice that the font for the back is the same for the "Jumbo" on the face of the bat. Could you use and place each letter one at a time perhaps?

Or could you use the image here and retouch the label. Could look good for a 'weathered' bat?

Are they the same font? They look different, particularly the "O" on the back - the closest I can find for that (which I'm thinking of using) is a new-style "pin" logo.

Hmmm, now that you say that perhaps not. Perhaps the ridge of the bat is distorting the font as it is applied to the bat?

Maybe. Between the 2 images you posted, on the back everything but the O looks the same, but I don't think the jumbo on the front & back look the same...

Ok, I'm not sure what the font is but maybe someone has one and can take a good photo?

in-game shot of slightly amended Slazenger 5 star (made the face plate a bit bigger)

Looks fantastic! I remember one very similar to this in the club kitbag as a kid playing junior cricket in Brisbane. Had a very sweet middle and everyone was keen to use it whenever they could. Thanks for taking us back there Blockerdave.

By the way is this Boycott himself batting? Surely not as I can a gap between bat and pad? Not like him at all! :lol
