Dec 3-7: 2nd Test: Australia v England at the Adelaide Oval

CMJ is so excitable on TMS. Almost putting me off my FM.

In any case, what a dream start!

I feel like this is a nightmare, horrible start. We HAVE to be 3-down at lunch.

I almost had a heart attack then. Lawry screamed gone and I wasn't facing the TV.

The question is whether it's an advantage to bat last. I don't think it's too good a wicket that it will be.

Depends how much we get, I remember a similar situation at the SCG against Pakistan. That one we should have bowled first no question and our first innings total was way below par. Took a crazy Pakistan for us to win it. Can't blame Ponting on this one however, this was a bat first pitch.

He better make them pay, seen a few times of late where he gets out around the 50 mark after a chance.

Bit concerned that Finn might let the pressure off, but we'll see.

Can't see how he could let the pressure off, they could bowl Trott and Pietersen, but Australia would still be 3 wickets down in the first session.

That's a good point, but in that case you are surrendering your chances of winnings games on flat pitches that assist spin. I'm just not sure we need to go down that path, we are not that bad yet.

Well i wont say AUS are surrending their chances by doing that. Since in the all pace attack you would have bowlers for AUS in (Hilfy, Harris, Watson mainly, Siddle & Bollinger slightly depending on who plays in a 4-man attack) who can reverse swing the ball on those same wearing flat pitches, which would make up for not having a test standard spinner to utlise those conditons.

The risk is the fact that they wont always win you games on the last day. You will have days like Mohali 2010 when they will bowl brilliantly or days similar to the 2nd innings @ Brisbane last week (but not as bad of course :lol).

So we cant expect perfection. Just knowing & accepting your limits & backing your strenghts to do the job.

Swann. Something about to happen.

Nothing. Nothing is the something which happened.

They've seen off the most dangerous part of Swann's spell

Let's hope so.

Watson seem to move back into his crease before Swann bowls. Interesting tactic.

Absolutely sloshed here. Having to babysit a friend here but still brilliant start. Wish I'd actually seen the wickets though.

Well made 50 Watto, might have looked shakey at times and quite a few shots not off the middle but hes starting to hit them very nicely.
