@ barmy, i don't think you have still the problem with ALT + TAB, did you?
i had the same problem; it appears in my case concerning the resolution settings. take the standard settings, then ALT + TAB, tsearch configure, back to business and setting the resolution to high. that was my resolution in my case, maybe it will work for you or others with the problems too...
