Frizzell County Championship
Derbyshire v Northamptonshire at Derby

Derbyshire 2/126

Blaine Molloy 69 (88) no
Jhonny Noyce 24 (60) no

J.Brown 2/40

A solid first session here for Derbyshire, with Blaine Molloy leading from the front fresh from his oneday century a few days ago. He has been extremly mature with his batting, playing each ball on its merrits. We sopke to Blaine before the start of play and he said "I ve been working very hard in the nets and am just trying to get back to basics". Well it has worked for the young man here today and i hope he can really kick on. He has had great support at the other end in his opening partner Calum Chance and then by John Noyce who has also looked very sound.

Well what could have been a totally dominant session for Derbyshire has turned into an ok session for them, thanks to umpire Dick Wadd. He gave Martin out LBW to a ball that pitched and struck Martin outside the line of off stump. Martin was clearly dissapointed as he has been training hard and was looking for some much needed runs. Before this bit of poor umpiring we saw Blaine Molloy score his second hundred on the trot nefore he chopped on onto his stumps. We also saw a good return to form from Jhonny Noyce who has played a gem of an innings and will be looking to make this a big hundred for him and his team.
