Don Bradman Cricket 14 Downloads Help Desk

Can you find it now?

In which case it's my fault because I didn't enable the setting inside this forum.

I think I found an issue about uploading files that were more than 2MB in size. I'll give that a shot in a moment.

Yep, it's there now. Thanks for that.

I am completely new to this downloads section, can someone tell me whether these downloads are just one click away from getting in game or we need to more manual things to set this up

Modding is fairly straightforward once you get used to it. Extract files to the correct folders (which is specified in the mod's instructions/readme usually), then use the Academy in-game to select the modded bat/kit/stumps etc. Job done :).

Let us know if you need any help :thumbs.

You can't. That's tied to your Steam account.
Should add to this - you do reset the cumulative achievement progress if you start a new profile.

I had to because someone broke mine - the things like 500 catches, etc. all start counting from 0. You can't reset achievements you have already won, but you can make it start again on those count up ones if you haven't done them yet.

In case you never want to get those 16000 runs.

I have no idea how you'd go about it, but is anyone interested in trying to get into and modify the data-0.blobset.pc file?

I'd love to get into doing more extensive modding of different things but there's been no word from BA about this and we may yet still have to wait a long time before we get any significant updates to the PC version due to the Xbox issue. It might be worth just trying to work with what we have...

I hope we get some word either way on what's going to happen in terms of modding.

In the lead up to release I was under the impression that the game would be highly moddable - I don't know if I read something to this effect somewhere or if it was just wishful thinking, but as it turns out the game isn't really that mod friendly at the moment.

The tight limits on the slots for bats and kits, the niggly things like not being able to have different coloured emblems on shirt and helmet, pitchads/adboards/ropes/overlays not being moddable etc... Cricket 07 can be modded with more attention to detail than this at the minute.

Indeed - and even if we went around it by working on replacing things in the blobset file, we'd still be very limited by those fixed numbers of kit items.

I understand it not being a huge priority for Big Ant, but it kinda feels like we've all done everything that can be edited and this section is stagnating a bit.

where team kits should be placed in donbradmancricket 14 folders?

Yeah I'm starting to feel it's pointless me making any more mods and I can't even think of anything else I would even download were someone else to release it...

have digged in a bit the structure inside it is similar to dbc textures folder except wasnt able to extract the headerless dds files inside them, they have actually kept on packing files one inside the other in the blobset, right now only commentary files are fully recoverable, but the dds files should also be recoverable.

But like matt says unless BA open up files with ability to add more files it wont help much in terms of graphical mods.

Im more keen on getting a go on gameplay configs, i can certainly stop posting about ball not bouncing of pitch and field-sets after that.[DOUBLEPOST=1407842270][/DOUBLEPOST]

blame xbox, we were actually going at a good speed in modding with BA making some quick updates at the start regarding to modding.

I am really waiting for someone to take a crack at the blobset. I think even if BA were to make the game more mod-friendly in future updates, I am pretty certain they would never allow easy modifications to the core gameplay (AI configs, fields, shots etc.)

Im sure if they dont want a gameplay modding they would be able to block it out with a steam update to an extent, even if we extract it and mod it.lets see how BA go about it first.

This section seems pretty much dead :( Even the AC09 downloads section seems much more active...

Probably because you can access there with a pirated copy, and I'm sure the C07 section would be deader than this one if there were a similar verification process.

I think as others have alluded to, the lack of extra slots/templates is defintely the main deterrent for me. I'll definintely finish my BBL sides, but even after that, thats 8 jerseys, potentially 2 or 3 pants, and 2 or 3 hats which are effectively unusable from there on in. I for one would be far more pro-active in making/posting stuff if I knew I could be using it all.
