Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

Indeed, I would like to hear the thoughts of Ross on this one.

We have long term plans to bring all of our games to the level expected from the majors. It's going to take us a few iterations to get there however I do believe we can, some things we are going to be an iteration behind on, some we will be in front on. There are things unique to us because we can be nimble and innovative, as we are relatively small we can afford the time to listen to our constituency as we do here.

every time I read comments like that from you, I think "they have to make a rugby union game!"

I grew up playing Rugby, blacksheep of the family :), I would of course jump at the chance to make a game if given the opportunity.

yeah you've mentioned before... what position by the way? funny you say black sheep of the family - I come from a big family (11) with 7 boys, all of us played rugby a few of us at a decent level. then one of my sisters married a footballer :mad not even a tough aussie rules footballer either, damn soccer player.

if I win the euro lottery tonight you have my word i'll invest some funds in a rugby game with you...

when you say "given the opportunity", what realistically does that constitute? like a rugby national board or competition coming to you, a publisher with a license, spare internal funds/time? me winning the lottery and investing? understand if you can't say too much.

I played State wing/full back but just for Victoria (we did at least always beat Tassie, SA, and WA though, got creamed by NSW/ACT/Qld of course) - all of the family played Aussie Rules/Cricket hence I'm the odd one out..

You need a World Cup to sell Rugby.

Refreshing to hear you have your eye on something along those lines. I was discussing this with my brother and how FIFA the game itself is nothing special but the FUT is what rakes in the players and the hype, without that it'd be just another football game really, it gives the game such dynamic and longevity

We don't get enough Aussie rules footie on tv here, watched a game a while back, collingwood were one of the teams it was proper entertainment. Didn't big ant do a Aussie rules game?sorry off topic!!! Are you planning to do much marketing in the UK. Would love to see DB14 in the cricketer mag!

I hope cricket will be the running force and become a major iteration for BigAnt Studios, i strongly believe the cricket is in safe hand with BigAnt.

It's look good but I don't understand why not showing releaseing date yet it's all already October 8 and they said available in 2013

If you read the forum, you would understand exactly why the release date hasn't been announced yet, and you would understand why the game is still coming out in 2013.

This is more of a general topic. Looking at the bits and pieces of this game, it is obvious an unimaginable amount of work was done behind the scene. And this is big ant's first cricket game. But what do you guys think were the reasons behind the earlier games falling short of expectations by a large margin? I know we all have our favorite games, but probably except BLC99 (and i would argue 97 ate) they all seemed like half hearted effort on developers' part. I really do not think they did not care for the game they were creating. Was it budget restriction? Or license restrictions? Or refusal and laziness to try anything different or being innovative was the reason behind those attempts at creating a great cricket game experience?

Which forum?

Amazingly, the one you're posting in

But knowing you won't bother, here is the TL;DR version.

Why isn't the release date announced yet? Past Big Ant games have had the release dates announced approx 3-4 weeks prior to release. Ross has communicated that 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

It would be fairly safe to assume that they will keep this strategy going, and announce the release date 3-4 weeks prior to release.

Ross has consistently communicated that it makes sense to release the game in conjunction with the Australian cricket season getting in to full swing. So if the game were to release in say...Mid to Late November (total guess), it is hardly surprising that the release date hasn't been announced given their past behaviour of having a short turnaround time.

But I'm sure you think the game is still cancelled, so why do you even care?

Bcz u not understand my feeling that's my dream game I still remember my first cricket game BLC 99 that time I think about game like cricket 14 and when u see ur dream becoming true it's hard to wait that's all I don't have problem with Ross and you I just want now the date even it's come out 12/31/13 I hope u understand me

A quick look through your post history shows that you've made it VERY clear in the past that you have a problem with Ross and Big Ant.

Release date is 2013.
