Pffffttt don't be so lazy! I prefer strike rate and eco to just bowling average; works better in cases of 40ish averages but economies of 4 and a bit.Nothing wrong but, nothing right too if we compare both. It acts same as CS instead of averages it uses SR and Eco for bowlers which has nearly same effect. It uses averages for batsmen. Same as CS. Plus, takes more time to get everything done.
It also can work other way round. Not always an economical bowler has a good day. On some odd day, he can also get smacked. This is why I like CS. There is not a pattern in it. Agree with that. That is why we can set a limit of what averages we will use for batsmen and bowlers. Like a range. Then we can have fair results. I'm not even bothered about what you said in the second line.high averages = high economy
