Thanks for the replys everyone. Hopefully a couple of first class hundred's aren't to far away which is what Slats will need to get in front of Adam Voges in selection for the Ashes which are about a month away. The Bushrangers next match is against the Southern Redbacks at the Adelaide Oval (the place where England choked).
South Australia Redbacks Vs Victorian Bushrangers
Adelaide Oval from 27th ? 30th October 2006
Head to Head
The Opening Batsmen
-------------------------------------------------
Matthew Elliott Vs Lloyd Mash
-------------------------------------------------
The former Victorian Matthew Elliott just hasn?t been the same batsmen since he left the state the year they won the Pura Cup. However his experience stretches further then young gun Lloyd Mash who averages 32.66 in his short career so far was impressive last match with a couple of half centuries. This contest will have to go to Elliott, as he is the more threatening to the Victorian bowlers.

The First Drop Batsmen
-------------------------------------------------
Cameron Borgas Vs Jesse Slatter
-------------------------------------------------
Slatter stared picking up the MOTM honour in the first game of the season with 6 wickets and over 100 runs in a wining side. Borgas didn?t play the first game of the season although averaging 33.26 with the bat meaning that this match up would have to go to the ever-improving Slatter who?s average with the willow is getting bigger by the innings and is now in the 40?s for his all round ability with bat and ball.

Victorian Bushrangers: 1
The Key Players
-------------------------------------------------
Mark Cosgrove Vs Brad Hodge
-------------------------------------------------
This one will be the main match up of the match. Both men have played for Australia in one form of the game and are both considered in the elite of the competition. Mark ?little boof? Cosgrove grips the bat low, is at times over aggressive and likes to score square of the wicket where as Hodge is a very neat player with the shots who has a great ability to tailor his game to the match situation. A very tough one to pick but it is believed that Hodge being the more controlled player will convert on a start more often then the sometimes careless Cosgrove.

The Go-To Men
-------------------------------------------------
(C) Darren Lehmann Vs Cameron White
-------------------------------------------------
Both these men being batsmen with the ability to bowl spin. White hasn?t played to his potential in the first couple of games this season but you always feel that a big knock is not far away for him. Lehmann who is now in the back end of his career is still scoring runs consistently and is a fantastic player of both pace and spin and has the ability to play very long innings which is why he wins this one.

Victorian Bushrangers: 2
The Glovemen
-------------------------------------------------
Graham Manou (WK) Vs Adam Crosthwaite (WK)
-------------------------------------------------
The 27-year-old Manou looked like a child prodigy early in his career but has not been consistent in recent years averaging a modest 19.58 in first-class cricket. Crosthwaite on the other hand is a superb wicket keeper with a bright future and averaging 27.15 in first-class cricket he has the ability to score runs down the order giving him a victory in this match up.
South Australia Redbacks: 2
Victorian Bushrangers: 3
The Spinners
-------------------------------------------------
Cullen Bailey Vs Shane Warne (C)
-------------------------------------------------
How can you compare a rookie leg spinner with the great Shane Warne? You can?t. Bailey is not having the greatest start to his first-class career averaging 40.80 with the red ball and not contributing any real runs to the team either. Arne was not very impressive last match taking just 1 wicket for the match but will be keen to do better here.
South Australia Redbacks: 2
Victorian Bushrangers: 4
The Strike Bowlers
-------------------------------------------------
Jason Gillespie Vs Gerard Denton
-------------------------------------------------
?Dizzy? Gillespie has been out of the Australian side and to the surprise of many people he hasn?t really stood out at the level below. Still bowling high 130?s and swinging the ball he will be looking to regain some form in this match. Gerard Denton was impressive again last game and continues to improve as a strike bowler with genuine pace. Dizzy however will win this one because of experience but a good performance is desperate needed if SA are going tow in this match.
South Australia Redbacks: 3
Victorian Bushrangers: 4
The Partnership Breakers
-------------------------------------------------
Shaun Tait Vs Mick Lewis
-------------------------------------------------
There is a lot of talk around about Shaun Tait who is getting his bowling speeds up into the 150?s. He has the newfound ability to bowl reverse swing and have batting line-ups on their toes a real weapon that needs to be used well by Darren Lehmann. Inconsistency has always been Mick Lewis?s worst fear and has failed to fire s far this season. More of a line and length bowler compared to the out and out pace of Tait who wins this match up because of the fear factor of his bowling.
The Final Result
------------------------------------------------
South Australia Redbacks: 4
Victorian Bushrangers: 4
