David Gower: So a good morning session for India sees them cross the 350 run mark, with one certain Yuvraj Singh playing a major role. I have with me in the studio, Ian Botham and Nasser Hussain.
Ian Botham: Yes absolutely. He has been the spine of the Indian batting lineup, and everyone has pretty much played alongside him. A beautiful knock, and the best thing was that he showed how exactly you are supposed to bat on that wicket, and in the conditions. Fantastic stuff and a richly deserved 150 for him.
David Gower: Yes, and India surely will be happy with that morning session.
Nasser Hussain: Definately David. I thought they had a perfect start in the morning with Yuvraj and Pathan both doing their respective jobs well. Pathan scored a valuable 20, and more importantly gave support to Yuvraj. And when Flintoff got those two quick wickets, I thought England in the end had a good chance of getting India out for less than 350, but Yuvraj had other ideas, and with some fine support from Anil Kumble and has taken his team pass the 350 mark. Well done.
David Gower: Yes indeed. Well lets now have a look at the scorecards. And we start with India's batting.
Nasser Hussain: Well India resumed on 268-6, and then that crucial partnership between Yuvraj and Pathan, took them past the 300 run mark, and at that stage it seemed very likely that India would reach 350 or even 400. But two quick wickets from Flintoff, and it suddenly looked like England were going have the last laugh. Fortunately for India, they recovered once again, and did cross the 350 run mark, and now will be looking to get as close to 400 as possible. Yuvraj has been the star of that session and the entire innings, scoring a fine 156 unbeaten, and has been well supported by Pathan's 20 and Kumble's 3 unbeaten.
David Gower: For England, the best bowler of that session was Andrew Flintoff, who got those two quick wickets.
And now its time for us take a break. After the break we will have a look at some of the individual stats.
