England in India - Oct to Jan 2012/13

Okay, wtf Aleem Dar? You're supposed to be one of the best, Ojha had Cook yesterday too, get your ---- together Dar!

----------

He's always injured...

I am not going to blame Dar at all. We deserve it if we aren't going to use DRS. And, it happens. He's a pretty good umpire.

Yeah yeah, I know, but it's just shocking because it's Dar we're talking about here.

And tbh, I don't want the DRS, I want the 3rd umpire to be more interactive, have more power per say. If one of the on field umpires gets something wrong then just tell him that he's got it wrong and just have it over turned then and there, ffs they're mic'd up and all, it's just little things like this that annoy me the most.

C'mon Dhoni, you have to catch those chances.

Aaron looks a better ODI bowler to me.

Ok never mind. Compton is gone

RELEASE THE PIE CHUCKER!a

Ha, slow left arm. That was shocking shot selection. He's looked out of sorts in both innings.

Aaron's too raw for tests. Where is Praveen Kumar? And Ishant still has potential...would be good if he taps into it.

I feel Cook in India will be much like Dravid in England.

Yep, he's not good enough yet. He was spraying it all over the place vs West Indies.

I've run out of patience with Ishant tbh. Even when he's bowling well and looking threatening, he doesn't take any wickets.

Praveen Kumar is only good when it swings. In fact, he's the best when it swings. But, at other times he will get clobbered given his pace. Aaron is raw but, can surely improve. We have ruined pacers like Munaf and Ishant Sharma by asking them to cut down their pace and bowl line and length.

It's cute that you remember those games from so long ago. Or are they just replayed constantly on Starcricket?

It's hard to find the time to go back that far with so many Aussie victories since then. Will take me a few weeks just to watch the 4-0 from a few months ago!

India's hardly among the top teams even now. South Africa, Australia, England, Pakistan and perhaps even Sri Lanka all ahead of them. England's #2 ranking is clearly on borrowed time and once Aus and Saf conclude their series, England will be a distant 3rd at best with their 3 wins in 11 or so tests since demolishing India 4-0.

Since I am in the USA, I don't have access to Starcricket. That two series (the one in 2001, and the one in 2003) remains etched in the memory of many Indian fans.:D

Yes, India is not a top team even now. But England are among the top teams now. That's why I feared that England might have a chance to come back in the game. Still think India need to fight it out, with England needing only 148 to make us bat again. A target of 150 odd on the last day will be very challenging.
