I find it hard to believe Patel is only brought on this late for his first over when the seamers have been going at sixes and sevens over a number of overs while Tredwell was doing well and Root was doing ok by comparison.

I know what someone should have got Cook and the England management for Christmas, cricket tactics for beginners. It's taken them long enough to work out that two batsmen opening is better than a pinch-hitter. I'd take 75/0 after 15 overs over 90/2 every day of the week

Can England lose it from here? I'm sure ENGLAND can, but India need to bring that required run rate down pretty sharpish or wickets down will start to hamper them seriously.

Yeah,at least this wasn't an embarrassing defeat.I don't know what to think of Jadeja.Is he playing as a bowler?Then only his selection makes sense.Whenever India are 5 down and Jadeja comes to the crease,there is a feeling of match already lost.
Still,India gave a fight and gave it till the very end which was an encouraging sight.Not to mention India were chasing and for a team which can do nothing right at the moment,we did okay.Also well played England.
I do hope for England's sake that they drop Dernbach.You need to be able to bowl at left handers in international cricket.

He is still economical that Dinda. Your argument is still invalid.

Anyways back on result, I know we lost but at least players are getting in form especially Yuvraj and Gautam. I won't be surprised if we face another series defeat, I just hope we can avoid whitewash.
