Would have been a good time to give him a game in full England colours. Batty is such a backwards step it's unbelievable.

great stuff from the boys. a deserved win. I hope they can take this form into the ODIs.

I was actually really impressed with Ramdins captaincy, rotated the bowlers really well and his field placement was good too. In his 1st game as a captain he did better than Strauss.

Don't judge Amjad on these two games, when he's bowling well he can very damaging.

On the topic of the second best A Khan in British sport, I think his Test selection screamed of desperation, rather than look to forge an attack of quality bowlers, they turn to someone who might be able to steal them the odd victory and cover up the horrid previous selectoral deficiencies. His ODI record may be based on similar thinking, perhaps, but of course, this thinking would be statistically flawed as well as plain wrong.

Batty deserves to play TBH. He out bowled Rashid in the warm-up game and Rashid hasn't performed in any warm up games on the whole tour.

Glad Davies got a go. He's been brilliant for Worcester in the Pro40 for the last two years and it was a good time to give him a go. I hope he gets a go in the ODI's since Prior has one fifty in about 3o innings.

Games like these are not going to make England a better team in Test matches so all in all this doesn't matter one bit.

That's not an attitude I'd have if I was a player. I'd want to win everything. Sure, tests are the pinnacle of cricket but victory is victory and you should strive to reap its sweet fruit regardless of the form. Victories in one form of the game can be carried into another form of the game in the form of momentum. However, that said, this loss could have given a good kick up the backside so there is an alternative view. An alternative view that is optimistic, not indifferent.

Hardly any consolation in that view either, this English bunch has had a LOT of kicks up the backside in the past few months. So I guess this only leaves them with the view that their backsides will be tough enough to somewhat endure the kicks coming up

I hope the Davies selection was a "lets see what he's like" selection. We know Strauss will open, it depends who they want to open with him. Davies, left hander, new to the team, decent record, decent player. Or, Prior, right hander, similar style, in good form with the bat, been around the side for a couple of years.

You know who I'd go for, I think I know who the selectors would go for.

What's ridiculous about Sarwan is that he can go from being an immovable force in the tests to an irresistable force in the limited overs games.
Still winless on the tour: maybe we should have arranged a game against Bermuda? Even if we didn't win Giles Clarke might have disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle...
I'm fed up with his obfuscation over Stanford. The man should never have been re-elected but since our administrators set the tone for the team lack of competence has never been a reason for being dropped.

What a terrible England, what a waste england batting order. Kevin Pietersen should not give out. Is the umpire need glasses and see clear, he wear sunglasses maybe he see wrong something. England batting look lazy and waste shot. Why england not give to ravi bopara bowl? I not know what england mind now and hope they work hard and got more clever batting on first ODI.

Steve Davies debut not bad, whoa everyone harsh on amjan khan i think he is not bad bowler and just give him time then he could destroy anyone teams. Why jimmy anderson got game he is so rubbish and he keep swing wide so that easy to west indians get runs.

I given all credit to West Indians. First time west indans fielding is best i seen. Dwaye Bravo is lived and get up the crowd. He is excellent all-round player.

Let me just say this, I'm bloody glad I went to Cricket Nets last night. What an embarassing performance once more. Pietersen got an awful decision, that umpire was shocking, gave KP out with one that was comfortably going down leg, and then failed to give Collingwood who was plumb in front =/ Awful.

Davies looked good, fantastic timing and great through the off-side, could struggle if people are bowling stump to stump and full at him though. Good start for him, I'd like to see him given a good go in the ODi series alongside Bopara. The rest of the batting was pretty spineless though, Collingwood threw it away, Shah looked out of touch again, Pietersen was unlucky, and we're seriously carrying Strauss.

Strauss isn't good enough for the T20 and ODi sides, so shouldn't be the captain in OD/T20 cricket. Simple as. I don't see the need for the captaincy to be the same across all forms, I say give KP the OD and T20 captaincy, let him get some experience before he gets the Test captaincy back. Certainly better than Strauss.

The bowlers were pretty poor as well, the pacers didn't look threatening, Amjad probably bowled the best out of the lot of them, but did drop a ridiculously simple catch off Sarwan. Batty looked a serious step backwards, and although Rashid probably won't fair any better, I'd rather see him in the side as he's a wrist spinner and has a heck of alot of potential. Dimi went well with the ball though, the only one of the bowlers to perform well, and deserved a wicket.

Overall, shocking performance. Outplayed once more. Looked spineless with the bat, did nothing with the ball but fielded ok. West Indies deserved the win, and England seriously need to step their game up if they're going to have a chance come the Ashes. We're seriously screwed if we keep playing like we are, Australia will muller us.

bopara is starting to look like england's version of rohit sharma,a pretender.

Andrew McDonald is a better bowler then Amjad Khan. :laugh
Seriously, how did this clown get a gig? Darren Pattinson would've been a MUCH better option. It's not like he was busy either, seeing as he can't even crack into the Victorian side.

Amjad's not had a great time of things, but he's looked far more threatening than Pattinson did in his 1 appearance. He's got decent pace, bowls a good bouncer, has a good slower ball and gets swing. I wouldn't say McDonald's anywhere near as good, he's nothing more than a dibbly-dobbly medium pacer. Khan will be very useful in England, I just don't think his bowling style suits these placcid West Indian tracks. I'm not going to write him off yet, he's better than Pattinson, and certainly better than the apparent next in line, Saj Mahmood =/

Are you serious ?? No way Amjad Khan is different Andrew bowler McDonald. Amjad Khan is Fast bowler Amjan Khan is more various than Andrew McDonald. Amjan Khan had good record and can be destory any country. Andrew McDonald is just medium pace bowler and i can see him not in aussie in future because he is bowler is not good enought. he had only good test and got 3 wickets. Amjan bowler bowler average is 31 but he got more FC than Andrew McDonald is bowler average 29 and had 49 FC

Speaking of Saj The Australian tipped him as next in line if Harmison remains dropped and Andrew Flintoff can't get fit in time. "Heaven help James Anderson" was the quote if neither Harmison, Flintoff or Jones are in the line up. Mind you it would be a disaster if Anderson got injured. I'm guessing a line up of Mahmood, Sidebottom, Monty and Broad would be carnage.
