Should be interesting, I think England are probably better chasing as when batting first they seem to have no idea what type of total they need to be setting. Where as when they chase at least they know at what type of pace they need to go out. Both Shah and Prior's wickets on Friday showed. There cuts were both half way in between going over the top and trying to hit it along the ground. Especially seen in Prior's dismissal as he seems to kind of pull out of the shot s he gets to hitting the ball. There is just to much indecision from England and think this is down to Andy Flower. Not because of the way he is coaching the team but because he hasn't taken hold of the england team he is only a stand in coach. If England didnt have this indecision then maybe we wouldn't be seeing half hearted shots.

Edwards has the least threatening voice I've ever heard. Incredibly difficult to understand as well, adds way too many 'umms'. Good bowler though.

I don't like Flower's coaching tbh, and if he gets the job then it'll be obvious that there were just no other candidates. Ford wasn't good enough anyway, he got Kent relegated from the CC 1st Division, Buchanan's ruled himself out, as has Moody, and we're not going to get Mickey Arthur, so it seems that Flower's going to be the choice until Arthur's South Africa contract runs out. Going to be 2 crap years for England.

Well Mickey Arthur has asked the ECB to talk about the coaching job. I don't really want him, he gives off an aura that his teams are better than everyone else.

My choice would have been Tom Moody, but no Whatmore would do me.

Well, having been hit for six by Gayle, Broad should have had him LBW. Knocking leg stump out the ground.

You can't dismiss what Arthur's done with South Africa though. Turned them into one of the top sides in the world, and I think we've got a pool of players as good as South Africa's, so imagine what Arthur could do with them. He managed to turn Hashim Amla from a player out of his depth, into a very good batsman, imagine what he could do with Bell and Pietersen! Pietersen is a similar character to Smith as well, and Smith and Arthur have formed a very solid partnership, and I think he and KP could form a similar good Coach-Captain relationship.

Gayle should have been out. :( Looked plum live.

Jimmy spanked by Simmons now. Why don't England ever start like this? =/

Good choice bringing Flintoff in.

That Gayle LBW was most definitely out.

Ok, maybe Flintoff didn't really need to be in this early :p

Main difference has already been seen in the first 5 overs of the innings, England are scared to attack!

You realise, though, that Arthur has been in the job in SA for just under 4 years? Only in the last year have they been playing to their potential. I don't think the ECB, useless as they are, will wait 3 years for a coach to make his mark. Strange, that is, though, because Duncan Fletcher was in the job for 8 years and we weren't always brilliant.

Wouldn't you be? Against Gayle at least. Anything on an attacking length, the size of Gayle can latch on to it. To be honest, being on the actual field of play is the safest place to be when Gayle's in the mood

I just re read it and thought it might be taken like that, but what i meant was in the batting side of things.

We don't have the balls, its obvious. The thing is, its a perfect show by the ECB to keep Strauss in as captain of the ODi team. Ok he's scored some runs, but KP would have been my personal choice. His mentality (I know he's moaning about fatigue or whatever) is generally what we need.

Simbazz added 8 Minutes and 30 Seconds later...

Wonder how Gayle can reason that shot?
