Baker seems like the only logical choice, he has been around the team for a while now and got 8 wickets for the Windward Islands in his last game. Cant do worse than Powell.

Kemar Roach has been playing well so far for Barbados but he has a huge problem with no-balls.

Baker has 26 FC wickets at 43.11; surely this is not acceptable for a Test bowler. Consider Powell, who excluding Tests has 179 FC wickets at 25.51. Roach has a good record with 25 wickets at 28.36, but the economy rate of 3.99 is far too high and the no ball problem appears worrying. This being said, it is understandable considering his bowling action. However, it must be rectified before he is in any long term international contention. It must be difficult though, as trawling through the top wicket takers list shows an alarming lack of pace bowlers, and an alarming amount of spin bowlers. One must blame for this the often dead pitches with the trend of athletic young West Indians turning to sports other than cricket. It certainly is a difficult problem to find a suitable player to replace Powell. Powell should definitely go, but there are a number of not ideal choices for his replacement.

Great. Just great. Strauss replaces noballer son with another harmlesson who bowls a no ball 6 his second ball of the spell. Broad still hasnt bowled yet. Very ordinary captaincy so far from strauss.

Ooof, that is OUT OF THE GROUND. Nice start for Harmison, that one went for 7!

Trusachfan, I agree with Harmison ahead of Broad actually. Harmison's a fast strike bowler, and definitely deserves a go with a hard newish ball, see what he can get out of the pitch. Save Broad for tommorow.

every side in the current FC season is playing 2 spinners, Jamaica is playing 3. Teams are realizing that they can win games with spin because players in the Caribbean arent good at playing spin.
Sure that Powell has a good domestic record but if he cant bring that into Tests than it doesn't really matter. Baker is atleast young and has a chance to improve and get better while Powell is in his 30s and wont improve much.

Harmison is going very nicely here.......for Gayle that is.

That's the kind of jinx I like. Gayle gone, massive wicket. Harmison ahead of Broad hey Trusachfan? ;)

Harmison's bowling rubbish but he's got a wicket out of pure luck, get another one before the close and the West Indies are really under the pump

Nightwatchman Daren Powell :p I've seen him as nightwatchman before I think, saw it as a promotion and started to play his shots haha. Looking forward to seeing this. England massively on top.

This. Gayle is playing his own innings too much and has hit out after getting a little bit too excited considering the over so far. West Indies needed to get to the end of the end of the day without loss.
