England more important than IPL - Stuart Broad

Plus, out and out pace doesn't get you anywhere on Indian pitches anyways. Just ask Dale Steyn, or Mitchell Johnson.

Steyn actually likes playing in india. 15 wickets at 20.20. Of all countries he has played in its his best average except for bangladesh.;)

15 wickets... Oh my God. What a champion bowler in India :sarcasm

He's hardly played any games to be judged !

As for Steyn, well he's not been the best bowler bowling in India. He's not really that threatening over here and if we play a home series with him around, I think its gonna be a risky thing. Nehra, because he's accurate, a good fielder and can be a handy bat too :)

And yet you have?

That's not his fault. He can only play as much as he is required too and from what he has played, he has given a tremendous performance.

Not like anyone will want Broad after what Yuvraj did to him anyways :p.

That was close to 3 years ago, and Broad has become a much better player since then.

We have good fast bowlers too, they're just not going to take the batsman's head off.

There's you answer as to why you don't have any and have such amazing batsmen, because you produce roads to play on! They may as well just go play in the street.

^^^ Think Waz, Srinath & Zak :hpraise

Zaheer Khan is not a fast bowler.

Oh yeah, and we're back to talking about India.

The only thing I remember from Steyn in India is Sehwag's 319 :p. (He did pick up 6 wickets but got smashed)

Not my fault that you got facts messed up.

You said he couldn't bowl in india just like mitch johnson while the stats clearly disagree with you. Johnson has 13 wickets in 4 games at 40, steyn's record is a lot better.

His record is also much better than some of the indian bowlers in SA. Zaheer has similiar stats to mitch johnson stats in india on those helpfull SA wickets.;)

Ummm, yea, anyways...

I doubt them picking England over IPL has much to do with loyalty, because they are well paid as it is. If you come from a poorer/less professional nation, then the choice becomes a lot harder. That's when their loyalty is really tested.

Mitch & Dale have hardly played in India to be judged. If you take momentary form or form of ONE series into account, Jason Gillespie's gotta be the best batsman ever to play a match in Bangladesh, just because he got 200 against them.

What I said before and I repeat again is - you can't judge a bowler after he's played just 1-2 series in India. He needs to play atleast 3-4 series here, before an opinion is formulated about him, playing here.

Obviously, you choose randumb statistics to prove that someone playing 3 tests here is a great bowler in these conditions, which is hogwash and pretty much not the case.

Patriotism is one thing, logic another :clap

THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT INDIA!!!!!!! This is about Stuart Broad and his loyalty to England, now will you stop talking about India in every god damn thread there is!

You sealed it there. The kind of money they make is not what the kind of money, say a Mashrafe Murtaza or a Tatendra Taibu or even a Ross Taylor make. So loyalty is pretty much not the case for them dropping of from the league. Broad has not been much of a force to reckon with in T20s anyways, so maybe that could've played in his mind while he took the decision.

What is the truth and what is made to look as the truth are 2 different things. As long as he knows the distinction, its great :)

This is where it all started. Tell him-
Steyn actually likes playing in india. 15 wickets at 20.20. Of all countries he has played in its his best average except for bangladesh.;)

And Stop screaming. You've been doing this again and again and I've been overlooking this. Stop testing my patience. Now be a responsible user/mod/ex mod and don't respond to this in the thread and make off-topic discussions. You can do that with PMs. It is very welcome. :)

Back on topic fella's, I completely agree with this opinion-
Who'd want to take Stuart Broad anyway in the IPL?

Do you think he actually stood a chance to play in the IPL in the first place? Jim would have easily found a team for himself (if not owners lining up to buy him). But Broad hasn't really been effective in the shortest format of the game. He's done his PR agency proud with his move, I say :p
