Id agree with most of them, but Johnson???

if you want someone to be awesome for 20 minutes then stop trying for the next 70 then yeah. Hes the most frustrating footballer, if he had the attitude and work rate of a Silva, Rooney or Tevez (Maybe not the attitute of Tevez) then he would be amazing. But the moment however he doesnt deserve to be near the England team because he can be so lazy its untrue.

Indeed, the ultimate highlight player. Sturridge is similar - lazy, greedy and totally full of himself. Yes, he can a left back apart but at a big cost to the team as a whole.

To be fair to Johnson he has improved in his workrate area in the last few months and Mancini has complimented him for that. But yea i won't consider him a first XI player just yet.

But these worries about AJ and Sturridge pretty much shows why whoever in the ENG manager (hopefully Redknapp) has to recall J Cole.

With Rooney out for the first two games and ENG set to play 4-3-3, other than Ash Young - J Cole is probably the next best wing forward ENG can play to suit that formation.

Anyone else think that Redknapp might not be the best choice come the summer? Mourinho will probably be available by then, and if he is, surely he'd be better than Harry.

Can't see Jose wanting the job after the problems he's had with the Spanish media. There's obviously an outcry for an English boss (despite 17 premiership clubs getting on very well without one) so they're a bit screwed if Harry turns them down.
I honestly reckon he's feeling quite a lot of loyalty to Spurs at this point. If they want him they need to sell it as a caretaker role for the Euros and see how you feel afterwards about applying...

Hasn't Mourinho already turned England down in the past? I really can't see him leaving Madrid until the end of the season (if he wins the Champions League) and even if he leaves in the summer, surely he's smarter than to choose the England job.

He's almost certainly leaving Madrid and he wants to return to England but at club level rather than national level.

That is a silly stat to put a lot of stock into.

How many of the non-english managers are British?

Loads. And the premier league is, by virtue of it being so much better and more lucrative for players than the welsh, scottish and N.Irish leagues, effectively a best of British league. The best Scottish/welsh and N.Irish players play there if good enough. The best Scottish (Ferguson), Welsh (Hughes) and N.Irish (Rogers) manage there too.

Yes proportionally english managers are underepresented in the prem currently, however it's not a wholy english league.

Far from it. What was that stat from a while back - around 38% of the players in the Premiership are English? It's a multi-national league, probably more so than many others around and it's been that way for years now.

I definitely want to see Scholsey back in an England shirt!

It sadly is the issue as none or very few of the other British managers want to manage England. Surely if you want players to develop at the top level you also have to want managers to do the same.
If the FA want an English candidate they will have an extremely short list to choose from.
