England National football team thread

England and teams in general play more fluid football with a mobile lone front man i.e. see Barca/Ibra, Man Utd/RvN conundrums.

I'd like to see Bent kept higher up the pecking order.

Was it just me or was yesterday's match incredibly dull, after going 2-0 up, they just stopped playing. It only got interesting again when Stewart Downing came on with 5 minutes left.

Martin Samuel: Fabio Capello is on to a winner | Mail Online

Thank god for level headed journalist like Mr.Samuels. He is so right here, the English sports media seems to be getting worse by the day. EVERY DAY they are managing to contrive some irrelevant sensational story in a effort to make Capello look like he is clueless. JUST FOCUS ON THE FOOTBALL FFS :facepalm

Well, that's the English media for you. It's just rather ridiculous IMO that they just like to blow things out of proportion most of the time.

Ironic that Welbeck could make his debut against the country that's been trying to get him to declare for them.

That was a great match and a really good performance from both teams. Capello needs to stick with 4-3-3.

Ye i have grown to live with them. But the post word-cup treatment towards Capello to me has hit an all-time low in poor journalism.

Martin Samuel: Javier Hernandez faces burnout compared to Jack Wilshere | Mail Online

HAA good research this. Hernandez could die, but SAF isn't making a fuss about going to represent Mexico. But he will if Welbeck & Smalling goes.

England's young stars like Andy Carroll must follow Jack Wilshere's lead and commit to U-21 European championship in Denmark - Simon Bird column - Simon Bird - MirrorFootball.co.uk

quote said:
Fabio Capello has drawn the battle lines for Pearce this summer.

After the win over Wales he said: "I know that one Barcelona player, who is in the Spain first XI, has said he wants to play in the Under-21s this summer."

That player is 22-year-old Sergio Busquets - who has a World Cup winner's medal.

Barca are happy to let him play, and Busquets said: "If you can't do it when you're 22 and in good physical shape, you will never be able to do it."

SMH would you look this also. Spain have no issue with Busquets playing in under 21s - but yet some clubs here are going to run off at the prospect of Wilshire, Carroll, Walker etc going.

Its official the FA is weak & the PL clubs dont care about England.

Welbeck? Really? SAF actually tipped him to be in England's World Cup squad a couple of years ago.
