England National football team thread

Capello resigned. England are sinking in a total mess of whirlpool they created. Won't be long before they get back but this surely is a blow to the face.

The England national side is an embarrassment from top to bottom. Capello was too good for this bullshit.

Yep. 4 months away from the Euros and they currently don't have a manager nor a captain. Way to go, no wonder they don't win anything. Capello still holds the highest win% as full time England manager.

I love watching England implode, its just normally DURING competitions when it all goes wrong.

I actively support which ever team England are playing against, partly due to Capellos manegement and the FA's pathetic running of football in this country so I do find this very very funny

How hard is it to pick the best England 11 really??

I mean other than picking the team on a match day it's the players who don't perform..

my 11
hart
walker
terry/dawson
king
cole
parker
gerrard c
wilshere
sturridge
young/johnson
rooney

see not hard..

The only manager who I think is a good and viable option is Hiddink. But tbh, even he'd probably fail as the English players are stuck in a rut and fail to even acknowledge different footballing cultures, despite the fact that the English national side hasn't been successful for nearly 50 years.

Why would anyone want the England job? The FA is run shambolically, everything you do is scrutinised, the players are a bunch of grade A bellends and ultimately they fail to even complete 5 yard passes when it comes to an international tournament.

Richards ahead of Walker, but yea that's basically the best ENG XI if all are fit.

Disappointed that Capello left, FA undermined him really and i guess he couldn't deal with it.

The best that can happen is for the FA and Totteham to arrange a deal where between now and the end of the season Redknapp can manage England part time and still deal with Spurs.

Harry as Gary Lineker said on BBC news earlier - really is the people's choice.

Hope it's 'arry who manages England so that Spurs can get back to Europa League places. Couldn't care less otherwise for the welfare of the English national team, though I do enjoy seeing them suffer:D.

Id agree with most of them, but Johnson???

if you want someone to be awesome for 20 minutes then stop trying for the next 70 then yeah. Hes the most frustrating footballer, if he had the attitude and work rate of a Silva, Rooney or Tevez (Maybe not the attitute of Tevez) then he would be amazing. But the moment however he doesnt deserve to be near the England team because he can be so lazy its untrue.

Id also Play Jones over King just because you have to expect King to get injured during a tornament

Indeed, the ultimate highlight player. Sturridge is similar - lazy, greedy and totally full of himself. Yes, he can a left back apart but at a big cost to the team as a whole.

Also, Chris Smalling has to play at centreback. He's been outstanding this season, his reading of the game is absolutely superb.

There is no way Redknapp will take the England job, far too many people describe it as "too taxing"
